Eliminator 5
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs Death Sentence vs Traffic Warden vs Roo 2

Representing Team Varying Every Day, seeded #1, Sheer Heart Attack 2!
The reigning champion returns! It€™s unchanged from last season, still the same old drum with tracks and rear wedges, a very cool design that is packed with originality. The tracks are made from thick titanium and powered by lynch motors while the upward spinning drum is powered by magmotors. It immobilised MeCannibal 3.0 last time in the first round before taking out Spin Dash Unleashed and eventually Gabriel III in the final.

Representing Team Fatal Robotics, Death Sentence!
This is a box shaped rammer with an X-Terminator style scoop at the rear to shove opponents around with. The horizontal spinning disc at the front can dish out some serious pain and the robot runs when inverted, but the tracks are exposed to attacks from above.

Representing Team Braveheart, Traffic Warden!
This awe-inspiring rigid U-shaped machine is also very original, like the seeded machine in this melee. It utilises hydraulic clamps to hold the opposition in place and can then control all but the most powerful rammers with the huge E-Teks that supply over 30HP to the wheels! However the 4mm titanium armour could be thrashed by spinners, which 3 of the other robots in this melee are.

Representing Team Devil€™s Incarnate, Roo 2!
This cylinder shaped machine employs a mega-powerful spinning spike ring around the robot to destroy anyone that comes close, as it dishes out well over 100Kj per hit! It€™s based on Gyrobot from series 7 of Robot Wars, but with a hell of a lot more power, however wheels are exposed from above.

Roboteers, standby!

Booth 1: Martijn Benschop, Samuel Park
Booth 2: Steven McGregor, Will Harrison

ACTIVATE!

All four robots move off their starting positions as the buzzer goes and head towards the middle of the arena, the seeded Sheer Heart Attack 2 making the first move and driving towards Death Sentence, hitting the front disc of the box shaped robot and the two spinners meet and sparks fly, but neither robot is flung across the arena in true spinner style because their grippy tracks hold onto their space sin the arena and so they drive against each other with weapons inactive, Martijn turning Sheer Heart Attack 2 around to get the wedges into play while Samuel does the same to utilise the scoop on Death Sentence, and now Death Sentence gains the advantage, managing to breach the hinged wedges at the back of SHA2 and now Sam pushes Martijn across the arena and into the pit release button!

Meanwhile Roo 2 has spun up and now goes on the attack of Traffic Warden, the huge Kj count shredding the 4mm titanium of the U-shaped robot to ribbons as Steven struggles to get the hydraulic clamps of Traffic Warden into play, but before any major damage is done the spinning ring of Roo 2 is stopped by Traffic Warden€™s attack and the clamps now come into play to not only squeeze Roo 2 tightly, but prevent that spinning ring from beginning to rotate again and now Traffic Warden makes the most of those E-Teks in the drive and forces Roo 2 across the arena, still trapped by the powerful clamps!

While this is going on Sheer Heart Attack 2 has escaped from the X-Terminator style scoop of Death Sentence and has managed to spin up the vertical drum, now turning to put into use and whacking the side of Death Sentence, ripping a side panel clean off and also flipping Death Sentence against the pit release button! But the tracks grip the wall and Sam is able to wriggle out of the tough situation with a little bit of expert manoeuvring, only to be attacked again by Sheer Heart Attack 2, who whacks the rear scoop of Death Sentence this time, tearing that off to leave Death Sentence with a dangerously high ground clearance on all sides!

Meanwhile Traffic Warden still hasn€™t let go of Roo 2 and uses the superior drivetrain to force Roo 2 across the arena and towards the pit that was just opened by Death Sentence pushing Sheer Heart Attack 2 against it! Will struggles at the controls, but Traffic Warden is persistent and the clamps are strong enough to hold Roo 2 in place as Steven turns and dumps the invertible ring spinner in the pit of oblivion, prematurely ending Roo 2€™s run in Mechanical Maelstrom 2.0.

Just a few metres away though Death Sentence has managed to come back a little and has given Martijn a whack with the 21kg horizontal spinning disc mounted on his robot, however the titanium armour of Sheer Heart Attack 2 holds up to the blow and Martijn attacks again, now driving in underneath the ground clearance with those rear wedges and pushing the tracked box towards Traffic Warden, who obliges and puts those clamps to good use again, grabbing Death Sentence and once again using the power in that two wheel drive to pull Death Sentence off the wedges of Sheer Heart Attack 2 and turn around to put it halfway over the pit, with one track trying to save the robot while another dangles over the abyss!

But there is no saving Death Sentence and Sheer Heart Attack 2 moves in, nudging Samuel€™s second bot with a static drum and knocking it into the pit, signalling the end of Death Sentence€™s Mechanical Maelstrom 2.0 in a puff of smoke that sees it disappear from sight.

CEASE!

Roo 2 spins out and Death Sentence is sentenced;
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) and Traffic Warden advance to the second round!
