E-mail from Andy Kane

Firstly, I apologise for the following rant but some things really annoy me. I assume everyone received the e-mail from Andy Kane. I must say I was shocked and appalled from what I was reading.

After going to many of the Robots Live events I have yet to see any evidence of unsafe events. I only have one word to say, libel.

As for the advertising on the ents24 website, anyone could have put those advertisements on the site. I have known the Young family for many years now and find them to be some of the nicest, and in my opinion, trustworthy people you could ever come across. Why would they risk legal action by advertising events under RobotWars when they are called RobotsLive? Its absolutely ridiculous.

I only have four months left to represent you before retiring, thank the Lord. Maybe then we will get a president who just plays a presidents role instead of judge, jury and executioner.

Ive not received an e-mail from Andy.
In general I think its wise to discuss problems with the people involved first rather than broadcast accusations. Andy may already have discussed these issues with the Youngs, but if not surely that would be a sensible first step, even as a concerned builder, let alone as an FRA official. If the opportunity is not given to people to give reasons for their actions- or point out that they didnt actually do what they are accused of- misunderstandings and bad feelings are pretty much inevitable.

Dave, I think the point Andy was trying to make is the FRA thought RL were advertising as Robot wars which theyre not allowed to do, but from what i see they have shown that it wasnt there mistake and that of ents24.com.
The other point Andy was making was that RL accused the FRA of advertising their events on RLs behalf which Andy denied

I do think this was all a little pointless especially to throw in the comment running unsafe events I find that a much more worrying comment than advertising. Maybe Andy could clarify this? what have RL actually done wrong?

It seems more than a little childish, he said u said. surely there was no need to email a group of roboteers (not all FRA members it seems) Like i said the FRA proberbly should let us know what unsafe things RL are doing
and drop the rest, RL werent using the Robot Wars trademark, and the FRA dont advertise events off this forum

When was this Email sent, dont think Ive seen it although I do remember some of this contents a few months back and remember RL giving their expalnation to thr FRA. Would be disapointed if this was sent afterwards, but dont think it should have been sent anyway. If the FRA commitee has an announcment for all roboteers it should be posted here under that section not by Email!

I am not sure if that is allowed. Marks email was in the original email so a forward to Mark should be okay, but how far I can forward to others i am not sure so I wont for now.

Understood Leo.
You did not mention that certain individuals were supposed to receive the email. I thought that you were just forwarding the email to roboters who had not received it.
I suspected that it was a group email that I did not receive due to my university email account being closed after graduation.
