New bot problem

Okies here goes....

New bot uses hawkers..for main power...sidewinder for control..and BEC in sidewinder provides power for BR 6000...

Sit 1...sidewinder attached to RX...works perfectly.

sit 2..plug in a servo (the ones that came with DX6)....rx works for 1 sec then lights go off..after 2 secs lights come back on...move stick servo responds ...then same thing happens
Again.Im usin the servo to fire solenoids (old school version usin relays)

Sit.3 unplug sidewinder ...use 5v RX batt for power...servo and RX works perfectly..solenoids fire as they should and servo failsafes to centre off position when TX switched off

I rebinded the TX with RX to make sure of failsafe position..

Recallibrated sidewinder to TX...

Any one any more ideas ?....im stumped

The Spektrum RX seems to be extremely sensitive to voltage drop ...
Stick to option 3 and dont use the Sidewinder BEC ...its really only any good for powering the RX... Provides up to 100 mA of current at 5V to the RC receiver and other attached electronic circuits

What you should do ...as I recall ...is dont connect the red power wires from the RX to the Sidewinder when using a seperate battery to power the RX.

Additional info on Spektrum RX current requirements and a similar sub micro servo...

AR6000 RX
120 mA ...info gleaned from post on the web ...could be wrong.

EDIT...receive mode current is 61.3 mA but another post implies that the RX consists of two recievers...thus making 120mA possible...make your own mind up ..

Servo
Current Drain (4.8V): 5.4mA/idle and 150mA no load operating

Seems that even without the two combined draws the RX exceeds the Sidewinders BEC capability.

But lets assume the RX consumes 40mA ..Servo at idle everything could be fine ...move servo ...BEC browns out and RX disconnects.

The BR6000 exceeds 100mA with ease, we measured that during our bind tests.
