Paul, if you dont do something about those stats, I am personally ousting you from FVAL. I am sure you do not want that, so if I were you, Id seriously look over Nitro-Genes stats. Right now.
Paul, if you dont do something about those stats, I am personally ousting you from FVAL. I am sure you do not want that, so if I were you, Id seriously look over Nitro-Genes stats. Right now.
Flaming Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 90x90x60 cm
Weapon: a triangular spinning cage with 3 sharpened bot openers on each end, weighing 5kg each, spinning at 3000 RPM, powered by a Lem 130 on 36v, which, theoretically, puts out 82.471 KJ
Power: 2x Bosch 750 motors at 24v (its been made so that the cage motor gets 36v but the drive only gets 24, as the drive is ok as it is on 24V)
Shape: circular base with triangular cage atop
Speed: 15mph
Drive power: 4bph
Notes: Flag atop to show direction and to aid self righting, and the cage spins 2mm from the ground. Small bearings for the cage and the far set apart wheels give it increased stability for a FBS
Turning Circle: 0cm
Armour: 3mm titanium
Wheel Type - 4 small wheelbarrow type wheels (no need for great traction)
Strengths: Power of cage
Weakness: Unpredictable bounce off from an opponent
Hell Machine
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 140x100x60 cm
Weapons: A rack and pinion driven 16 bar max, 250mm stroke, 100mm bore axe, pressure is adjustable to suit, on 16 bar it delivers a 900kg blow and 2300J of energy
Srimech: Axe
Speed: 17MPH
Transmission: a 4 wheeled version of TerrorHurtz: 4 x 9:52 ger ratio, but with magmotors in place of Bosch 750€™s
Turning Circle: 0m
Ground clearance: 0 at the scoop and wedge edge, 2mm the rest of the way around
Wheel Type: Vulcanised Aluminium, 130mm diameter
Body Shape: scoop fronted, wedged back
Armour: 12mm HDPE all over, and 3.2mm Hardox wedge piece that runs the width at the front. All panels are shock mounted on rubber bushings, plus HDPE is generally absorbing anyway
Colour: Black with flame face on scoop and name in blood writing on side, devil head on rear wedge
Strengths: EXTREMELY powerful axe, relentless in attacking (until a robot is immobile)
Weakness: Spinners
Name: Sheer Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 150cm x 80cm x 120cm
Shape: low angle-fronted box with disc on the front like 13 black and rear 259 style Disc
Weapons: A front mounted Horizontal spinning disc and a rear mounted vertical spinning disc, both running at 4500rpm and delivering a blow of 45kj
Top Speed: 13 mph
Transmission: 4 Rubbertex coated aluminium wheels (Rubbertex is a grippy rubber substance used on the K*bot tables) run on a Smidsy type wheel system, and run by a pair of Bosch 400€™s and a bank of Ni-cads to give me more weight for armour
Armour: 12mm HDPE
GC: 3mm either side and back, 7mm under the disc at the front, variable at the sides of the disc
Srimech: powerful electric arms mounted on the top
Turning Circle: 0cm
Strengths: devastating weapons
Weakness: Other spinners
Notes: will NEVER turn the vertical flywheel into an opponent as it will throw SH over. Also, counter-acting discs (vertical and horizontal) will keep it stable, and if it is flipped, it does a funny jig in the air before coming down, most of the time, right way up
Name: Flipping Hell
Dimensions: 120cm x 80cm x 40cm
Weight: 100kg
Shape: steep wedge front, elongated wedged tail (not used as a weapon)
Weapon: 50 Bar 2 pivot pneumatic flipper, 100mm bore, 180mm stroke ram powered by CO2, which generates a force to throw a 100kg robot 20ft up and 15ft across. The mechanism is a 4 bar flipper, but the rear arms sit much lower in the robot than those of Storm 2 and Biohazard. I will try and get a picture.
Top speed: 15mph
Transmission: just like Razer€™s
GC: 0 at the front, 2mm down the side, 4mm at the back end
Turning Circle: 0cm
Armour: 6mm aluminium and steel alloy
Strengths: Can win with one weapon shot
Weakness: Limited Gas supply, 2 stage self right
Notes: 4 wheels, the rear two of which are Razer type, so the flipper is always facing its opponent.
The self righter: Look for a video on YouTube of Biohazard fighting Vlad in early RW, and yu will see what I mean by 2 stage self righting, but FH does it considerably quicker.
MW:
Hell Fire
Weight: 50kg
Dimensions: 120x110x40cm
Shape: low slung wedge
Weapons: Powerful pneumatic flipping arm that has a 3.2mm Hardox plate that runs the width of the front, that can throw 75kg 3 feet or so no problem, and CAN flip 100kg, but not too high, and a rear Pussycat style Saw, that spins at 4000rpm, and has carbon tipped teeth to cope with titanium.
Top Speed: 25mph
Transmission: a pair of Mag C40€™s on 24v NiMH€™s running through a really simple transmission, but a reliable one due to features to keep the chain on.
Amour: 4mm Ali and steel alloy and 2 mm of stainless steel on top
Strengths: Very manoeuvrable and fast, generally very easy to control
Weakness: Exposed outer wheels
Ground Clearance: 0 at the front, 5cm at the back, varying from 0 to 4.5 at the sides (wedge goes up)
Turning Circle: 0cm (its turning is very nimble)
Notes: Hell Fire is extremely manoeuvrable because it has 2 sets of wheels on the same axle, meaning that it€™s incredibly stable, and can turn on a penny, and can still run even with outer wheels ripped off
LW:
Name: Hell Hound
Weight: 25kg
Dimensions (LxWxH): 60x50x30cm
Shape: scooped front, rectangular body, rounded back
Weapons: 2 conjoined Pincer type crushing jaws with a small hydraulic ram powering each, producing a 1 and 1/2 tonne crushing force
Colour: mainly black, but with Rotweiler features all over the body
Speed: 15MPH
Transmission: a pair of Bosch 400€™s on 24v running through a simple 6:1 ratio gearbox
Armour:1mm stainless steel and 4mm Ali/steel alloy (tough enough for LWs)
Srimech: cable pulled legs from out the side (like a dog cocking his leg to do his business) and a cable pulled tail to self right when its on its head
GC: 0 at the scoop, 2mm the rest of the way
Turning circle: 0cm
Strengths: Power of weapon
Weakness: slow self righter (still effective mind)
Notes: NBSFL LW champ
FW:
Name: Hells Angel
Weight: 12kg
Dimensions: 59 x 45 x 15 cm
Shape: Scoop front, rectangle body, wedged rear end
Weapons: A CO2 powered pneumatic axe run off two rotation air motors, run at 120PSI
Transmission:2x 18v Team Whyachi TWR18 motors on 24v, running Team Whyachi grippy rubber tyres for a metal floor, Robochallenge classic blue wheels for wooden floors. Both are 75mm diameter
Speed: 12 MPH
GC: 0 at the wedge point, 2mm at the front side varying to 11mm at the rear
Srimech: The axe, the weight of which pulls it over so it cannot rest on its side. Make SURE you remember that.
Armour: 10mm HDPE (sides and back), 3mm Steel (scoop, lid)
Strengths: The axe
Weakness: the armour may not stand up to strong FW spinners, but should prove good enough
AW: Stewie
Weight: 150g
Dimensions (LWH): 12 x 10 x 3cm
Shape: curved wedge with flipper atop
Weapons: HPXF servo powered flipper, run on 7.4v (Li-po), the flipper blade is 1mm Ti
Transmission: 2 x Presision Micro-drives 50:1 gear motors, 1.5cm wheels
Speed: 2MPH
GC: 4mm at the back down to 1mm at the front, and the flipper runs along the floor
Srimech: The Flipper
Armour: 1mm Polcarbonate lid, 6mm Polycarb sides and 4mm base, with Ti on the weapon
Strengths: High speed and manuverability
Weakness: A little too quick sometimes
Music:
Hell Machine - Duality - Slipknot
Sheer Hell - Faint - Linkin Park
Flipping Hell - Wait and Bleed - Slipknot
Flaming Hell - Head Kicked in tonight - The Rezillos
Grim Reaper - The Undertakers theme tune - WWE
The Saint - The Saint program theme tune
St Hammer - St Anger - Metallica
Weird Alice - Poison - Alice Cooper
And Paul, from a neutral point of veiw, something about your robot. You say 4 lem motors, yes ? and its for skid steer ?
I would advise looking into Storm 2. He requires only 2 Lem motors to power 6 wheels and it too is a skid steer robot, but can also spin on the spot due to the middle wheels being slightly bigger (only a few mm or so)
Due to popular demand, here is...

Tactics? Predictions? Comments? You know the drill...![]()
Alex McW (or Matty, depending on who gets in first, but it seems unlikely that Matty will :P) needs his bots in, and we are missing Franks last entrant, but other than that, this looks to be quite good!
Now, the arena...
The FVA Arena
Its just like your average arena...except...everything.We have...
- a 25 x 20 m rectangular space for your bots to move around in![]()
- a pit near the upper-right corner
- a flame pit across from it near the bottom-right corner
- one pair of kill saws in the upper-left corner, and another in between the flame pit and regular pit
- a pit release button to the right of the lower-left corner
- Four CPZs for our house robots, including good old Refbot![]()
- Four floor flippers in the CPZs (will come into play when the house robots are not on them)
- When half the match (150 minutes) has gone by, the middle of the floor will open up, which reveals a 1.5m diameter chrome-domethat rises up above the ground and acts as a huge hazard for the rest of the match, with 4 giant serrated chrome-plated Hardox blades. This monstrous hazard is called The Death Egg (credit to Steve
).
- the Discs of Death from the Battlegrounds arena, one on the middle of each wall like the angle grinders of RW
- 50cm high 30mm Hardox walls and a 30mm Steel floor. No wooden floors :P
No CAD, though, sorry. (If you REALLY want one, that can be arranged :P)
As for the line-ups, they look great, AJ!Ill have a go at predicting next post.

The Fighting Vapourbots Association League - Kody Kunzs tactics and predictions
Heat A
Do or Die vs. Salamander III vs. Axe to Fall vs. Grim Reaper
Grim Reaper to go, and I think Do or Die or Axe to Fall to join the Reaper.
Wedge Devolution vs. ??? vs. Death Threat 0.2 vs. Topsy Turvy
Wedge Devo through...and maybe Death Threat as well.
Heat winner: Wedge Devo or Salamander
Heat B
Catus Catus 8.1 vs. Ge5orce vs. Bloody Mary vs. Killotine: EVO
Killotine and Ge5orce easily.
Weapon Synergy Unleashed vs. Secret vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus vs. MeCannibal 3.0
Sorry, Daniel, but I do not think you will last long here. MeCannibal has improved greatly now, and it wont one-hit KO itself...but its still going out...of the arena. XD
Heat winner: Ge5orce, Killotine, and Die-Ceratops have the best chances.
Heat C
Disco 5 vs. SoR X vs. Cyclone Force 3 vs. The Botles Reunited
Disco through for sure...its between SoR X and Cyclone Force to make it through.
The May Tracks Has You vs. Nidhogg vs. Blue Sparks vs. Requiem
May Tracks through...Nidhogg to join.
Heat winner: Disco 5
Heat D
Leprosy Infection vs. The Quaestor III vs. Turbo Tails vs. Apocalypse
Turbo Tails out...probably Quaestor to join him out.
Wedginator Devilution vs. Masamune vs. Baldur vs. Star 69
I was wondering when my bots would appear.Right, Baldur is no threat, but its no use going after anyway, so Ill ignore it and attack the other two. Masamune looks an excellent shape to toss OOTA if I can get it from the side, and Star 69 looks stackable.
Heat winner: Leprosy Infection
Heat E
Gabriel III vs. Hatchet: EVO vs. ??? vs. Champagne
Depends, but Gabriel will scrape through most likely.
ISDSFA vs. Slammer VI vs. Dolce vs. Axes of Evil
Dolce can cause problems for ISDSFA...it and the new Slammer to go through.
Heat winner: Slammer or Gabriel.
Heat F
Gulp vs. Achilles vs. The 6isc vs. Sithis
Does anybody get the feeling that Achilles is becoming overrated?Sithis and The 6isc through.
The Zodiac vs. ??? vs. Sheer Heart Attack 2 vs. Panicking Still?
KILL THEM ALL! SPIN UP, TEAR THEM APART, SHOW THEM NO MERCY!![]()
Heat winner: If its not me, itll be The 6isc.
Heat G
Systematic Shocker vs. Sheer Hell vs. DreamCatcher vs. Dreadnaught
Uh...bye Dreadnaught. I think Systematic Shocker will crash out as well.
Tri-Tainium vs. Tengu VII vs. The Deer vs. All Scoop And No Stab Make Steve A Dull Boy
The Deer and All Scoop through. Tengu is strong but The Deer is stronger.
Heat winner: The Deer or All Scoop.
Heat H
St. Hammer vs. Crimson Thunder vs. Eye of Ran vs. PsycloniZer
Crimson Thunder and PsycloniZer, for me.
Intriguer vs. Hot Sauce vs. Spring-BOK! vs. Under Pressure
Martijns horizontal crusher...assuming thats what its going to be, I propose a team-up with Chezza and take it out, since Hot Sauce looks to be quite promising seeing it strut its stuff in VV.Drive straight into the loving arms of Under Pressure and hack it to death, try and get it into the pit. Then focus on Chris comedy bot.
Heat winner: PsycloniZer or Hot Sauce
Heat I
Lethal Execution vs. Namie€™s Style vs. Flaming Hell vs. Rammy Mk 3
Flaming Hell through, Martyn out, one of the other two to join Flaming Hell.
Super Gore Revo vs. Knyfe vs. ??? vs. Black Panther
Taking out another of Pauls overweight vapourbots...time for the piercing claws. Go for Knyfes side and crunch in, and drag to pit. Repeat with the unknown vapour. Black Panther doesnt sound too promising to attack so avoid it.
Heat winner: Flaming Hell
Heat J
Cat With Wheels vs. The Rock vs. Dervish: Generation X vs. Flick of the Wrist
Flick through for sure, dunno wholl join.
Monolith vs. ??? vs. Spin Dash Unleashed vs. Brutalis 2.0
Id say Spin Dash Unleashed has this battle in the bag.
Heat winner: Honestly, I cant pick between Flick or Spin Dash.![]()
Heat K
DVD: The Sequel vs. Wedga€™s Revenge vs. ??? vs. Juiced Oil
Two drums...I think Wedga is toast.![]()
Supreme vs. The Saint vs. Life & Death vs. E Clawdius Unum
SUPREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME!Clawdius will likely cruise alongside him.
Heat winner: Supreme.
Heat L
Heyght vs. With or Without You vs. Macduff the 3rd vs. Tempest Evil-est-oution
Box-rush the hell out of Tempest using the long wedge. Feed it to Without You and watch them both die, then shove With you into the pit, thus giving Paul a ticket through.![]()
Weird Alice vs. Noo Monsoon vs. Leviathan vs. ???
Noo Monsoon definitely through...dunno wholl join him.
Heat winner: Noo Monsoon
Heat M
Another Night At The Bar vs. Sakura vs. Killobite 5.0 vs. Exertion
Oh dear. This doesnt look to be my fight. Concentrate attacks on Exertion and feed it to the other two spinners. I expect Andy will try to do the same to me so pour on the aggression. If all else fails, box-rush Another Night at the Bar...and feed IT to Sakura.![]()
Mega Masher 2 vs. No Exceptions vs. Visioned vs. LockJaw Epidemic
Mega Masher gone. Visioned or LockJaw to follow suit.
Heat winner: Another Night at the Bar
Heat N
Seung Mina IV vs. Door Stops vs. Obliteration vs. Back to Rock III
Flip them all out.![]()
Rupture vs. ??? vs. WORCK-ER vs. Flipping Hell
Rupture to rupture WORCK-ERs chances and go through with Flipping Hell.![]()
Heat winner: MeOh wait...Flipping Hell.
![]()
Heat O
??? vs. Axe-O-Lotl vs. Liar 2 vs. Axeon 3.0
Probably both axes to go through.
Nitro-Gene 4.0 vs. Dante vs. vs. Phoenix Down vs. Disco Boogie
Phoenix Down and Dante through.
Heat winner: Axe-O-Lotl, Axeon, and Phoenix Down are the most likely candidates.
Heat P
Orka MK 4 vs. ArchAngel of the Abyss vs. Hell Machine vs. Forklift 2
ArchAngel and Hell Machine FTW.
Tira IV vs. Pure Evil: Back To Basics vs. Whirligig 4.5 vs. Extravagant
Uhh...complete war of attrition. Id like to get revenge of Whirligig right away but something tells me that would be stupid. In any case, Ill attack Pure Evil straight away and do what I did with Wedga in Returners: try and damage that flipper so it doesnt work. Then attack whoever has sustained the most damage out of Steve or Chezza.
Heat winner: Whirligig; I hate it, and because I hate it, it keeps winning. Loving it does nothing.![]()
----
And guess what? IM writing Heat A!Bwaaaahaha...of course, my predictions for that Heat will differ completely from the actual results...stay tuned!

OK - if this is fine, this is Nitro-Gene 5.0, the replacement Nitro which I intend to enter.
NITRO-GENE 5.0
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox monocoque for the body. 5mm Hardox flipper. Inside the body, there€™s 1cm of Vulkanised rubber on the sides and rear, with 3cm on the front to help fight powerful spinners, and theres also 5cm of PU foam covering the motors and flipper rams inside for protection.
€ SHAPE: Low invertible box with sides and rear angled in a shape, with the rear angled . The front is completely flat, making it useful at hitting into things and bashing. All the lines have been curved over to make it harder for a spinner to grab onto a panel and rip.
€ MOTORS: 4 x LEM 130€™s at 36V = 36HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulkanised Wheels, each is 20mm in diameter, and they€™re also 180mm in diameter.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 75CM (Extension included) (H) 15CM (W) 70CM
€ COLOUR: Dark Blue all over with the flipper coloured red with the name imblazed on the flipper (running vertically down the robot) in gold writing with a thick silver outline. All the edges of the robot are coloured gold.
€ WEAPONRY: A full pressure Nitrogen powered flipper at 1000psi, using a single 90mm ram at 1000psi. The flipper is mounted in the middle of the robot, and is 20cm wide and runs 60cm up the body. Using a 5cm long 10mm thick Titanium wedge underneath the flipper, and a heavy flipping arm, the flipper runs completely along the ground. Running on a ratio 2.2:1, the flipper produces 1600kg of force at the tips, allowing me to launch anyone away! This version has enough lift to get a robot of equal size 11-6ft into the air, and throw it 11-6ft along. This version has 2 x 1.5kg Nitrogen bottles, giving me 23 flips! The flipper has enough power to self-right Nitro-Gene 5.0 in a super stylish 540* somersault!
€ SPEED: 18mph
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0CM-1CM. At the front, it is completely 0mm. On the skirted sides/rear, its 1cm. 4mm Titanium skirts held on by Hardox hindges are mounted on the sides/rear and join up at the corners, making it harder to get under.
€ STRENGTH: Pushing power and weaponry.
€ WEAKNESS: High ground clearance underneath skirts.
PAUL!!!
WHEN. WILL. YOU. GET. THE. FACT. THROUGH. YOUR. HEAD. THAT. HARDOX. ARMOUR. AND. 4. LEM130S. AND. A. FULL. PRESSURE. NITROGEN. FLIPPER. WILL. NOT FIT. IN. A. 100KG. ROBOT????????????????????????????????????????????? ??
Not accepted.
What if I made it 2 x LEM130s but ran them at 48V?
Near borderline, but that would be okay.
