Thread: Problem; Scorpion XL going spaz!

  1. #1
    Hi guys

Basically, Ive put my robot back together, and for some reason Im having a re-occourance of a problem from Colchester, where the motors switch direction when I press forward on the TX (I press forward and they go forward for a second, then turn backwards and then forwards, then back again, without me changing the directions on the TX). Since it worked fine at Derby and I have since gained a new and more secure areial, Im convinced its not the RX, but the speedo, but I cannot understand why.

Whats just as weird is that when I do a turning movement (left and right) there is no problem, the motors turn the correct what and stay that way.

    Any suggestions ?

    Andy:
The box is actually plastic, its mainly to keep the crud off the controller.

Also, why are you trading in the scorpion ? Id rather take a scorpion over an electronize

Leo: I have the flip wire in the RX but its in the battery socket, acting as the BEC

Leave the flip cable out of the RX, it is not needed for BEC. I am pretty sure that will fix your problem.

btw, the BEC feeds the rx through all 3 cables. all positive and negative pins are connected internally so there is no need to have the battery socket on the receiver plugged.

That sounds like the voice of experience there Leo?Not from personal experience but since I am using scorpions longer than anyone in Holland I do come across the same problem in several Dutch robots, both with Sidewinders and Scorpions. And always because they connect the flip cable on a channel even if they dont use it. When its placed on a controlled channel when they use it (invertable robots) it works like a charm, if they hook up the motors correctly.
