Thread: Feather weight interference

  1. #1
i made a prototype feather weight a a few weeks ago using drill motors along with a futaba 2.4 ghz radio control and a Sabertooth Dual 10A Motor Controller and it keeps getting interference.

what happens is the green light labled status on the speed controller sometimes goes out which makes the robot do exactly the opposite of what i made it just do. so for example if i turn it to the right and the status light goes out- it will then go to the left with out me telling it to and then i have to turn off the power and then turn it back on again to get it back to normal again.

does any one have any ideas? as i have none

This sounds suspiciously similar to what happened to the 10A sabretooth I was experimenting with before the magic smoke came out.

What motors are you using with it and at what voltage?

The motors are just £9.99, 9.6 volt drill motors running off 2 drill batteries connected in parallel,

and what are dip settings?- I havnt been doing this very long. --do you mean what position are the switches on the speed controller?

    ok well:

    mixing mode switch- is on
    Exponential mode switch- is on
    lithium mode switch- is off
flip control switch- set to R/C mode(on)

---I just noticed it says if your bot is not invertible the above should be off/down ---

    Auto-calibrate switch- on autocalibrate mode
timeout switch- which is switched on

Ive tried switching the time out switch to the off position but it seems to go even crazier.- and i have even less control

and im using a spectrum controller
