Choosing a realie with a srimech would be boring though - everyone must learn to fear COPPER ARMOUR!
*puts on boring robot wars expert voice*
Bodyhammers armour was actually some composite material used in the military, allegedly from armoured cars in Bosnia :P and it was coated with electroplated hardened steel sheet, not copper.
*puts on normal voice*
Dont ask how I know that...
Which bodyhammer are you talking about? One was definatly either copper or copper plated, the second one was some fibreglassy type stuff
If it wasnt copper I was refering to the colour.
The first one - the second one was just weapons grade fibreglass thingymabob.
Sorry if Im disappointing anyone, but for reasons Im afraid Ill have to keep secret for the moment all the special events will be scrapped. Buyt do not fear, ETC08 will be doing them all later this year, so you can enter those if you wish.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
cant wait for those reasons to be revealed![]()
Tactics!!![]()
Supreme Glory Omega (3) v Shrederator v GBOD - Shrederator has no proper srimech, mainly relying on not getting flipped. It€™s a shame I haven€™t got a flipper really.. My main tactic is to attack Shrederator from the word go. My armouring should withstand the hits from both spinners. I will try and drive Shrederator towards the arena killsaws and hope that a hit with them could knock Shrederator off balance and flip itself upside down. Team up, Leo?
![]()
Mantis v Walk Dont Run 3 v Pure Evil: ROTD - Pure Evil was designed to be a one hit killer, almost kamikaze like in its attacks. Yes it will self destruct after a single hit, but it will take an opponent with it.. I will focus my attack on Mantis, using the flipper to hopefully get it OOTA. In order for PE: ROTD not to explode, I will keep the kinetic spinner at a slow speed, switching the motor on and off during the match.
Achilles v Manic Monsoon v Death Threat 0.2 - Achilles and Manic Monsoon have a slight grudge on these forums, both robots facing each other on numerous occasions and both robots winning the same amount of battles (I think!). Therefore I propose a team up with Alex against Death Threat. The claws on Death Threat shouldn€™t do anything, and even if it grabs a hold of me I can easily push it around the arena.
Death Wish 2 v Bio-Hazard v Axes of Evil - Wish I had picked a better realie.Ummm€¦ flip both opponents around, try and stack one against the wall or tip it OOTA. Will team up with whoever wishes to.
![]()
Dennis the Menace v Exertion v Revenge of Black Death - I propose a team up with Exertion to dispose Revenge of Black Death into the pit.
Razer (v Weapon Synergy v Holepunch - Eeeeep! Panic! Just split up and attack wherever possible and try to cause enough carnage and annoyance so if it goes to the JD I will sneak through.
Seung Mina IV (4) v Killotine: EVO v Dervish V - Apparently, Sueng Mina is going to be attacking Killotine €œlike there€™s no tomorrow€ (Quote from MSN convo with Kody). Therefore, I will be attacking Sueng Mina. The flipper looks quite deadly and I feel confident in beating Killotine later in the heat.![]()
Drum Boy v Envy v Sonic Boom - Two axlebots against a front-hinged flipper. LOL! I will concentrate my attacks on Drum Boy, basically being an annoying axlebot like Stinger and clouting it a few times with the axe. Wanna team up, Kody?![]()
Welcome back to Robot SMASH!! Series 2: Recharged! If you missed the first parts of tonight€™s episode, you€™ve missed out, as we saw Wedge Devolution and Sheer Heart Attack 2 defeat The Curse, and then Bodyhammer was flipped and pitted by Y4 and Splinter!
Let€™s take another look at the heat A semi-final line-up!
Wedge Devolution (1) v Splinter
Y4 v Sheer Heart Attack 2
Heat Semi-Final 1
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to the coliseum, the number #1 seed Wedge Devolution and Splinter!

SMASH!!
And now the first semi-final of Heat A gets underway, as the number #1 seed Wedge Devolution comes flying out at the start to meet the experienced realie owned by Leo Van Miert, Splinter! The two meet head on and Wedge Devolution pushes Leo back into the arena wall, but Splinter gets underneath and grabs hold of Wedge Devo with the arms before ramming it back across the arena and hitting it repeatedly with the axe! They hit the arena wall and Wedge Devo uses its flipper to push Splinter backwards and gets out of there, then turns around to try and flip Splinter from the side, but Steven only gets under the arm and when he flips Splinter is merely flicked into the air and not thrown over as he€™d hoped! And now Leo comes back on the attack, getting underneath Wedge Devo€™s skirts at the front corner and again grabbing and axing, at the same time ramming Wedge Devolution into the corner, where Steven is flipped by the Killsaws! The number #1 seed quickly self-rights and comes back on the attack, this time getting underneath the side of Splinter with success and throwing Leo onto his back with the axe down! Splinter can€™t self-right from there, and Wedge simply pushes it across the arena to the edge! Leo looks on helplessly while Steven manoeuvres Wedge Devolution to get right underneath Splinter before firing the flipper and letting Splinter fly up and out of the arena!
CEASE!
Splinter is splintered; Wedge Devolution goes to the heat final!
We now go to the pits, where Leo is leaving with Splinter.
Me: Time for Splinter to get a proper srimech, perhaps?
Leo: It seems so. It can only self-right from certain positions at the moment, and it€™s just not good enough with flippers like Wedge Devolution around.
Me: But not many people would last that long against the number #1 seed, aren€™t you happy you didn€™t go out in 5 seconds?
Leo: Yeah, I guess so, but I would have liked it to last to a judges€™ decision if I could have
Me: Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, now back to the coliseum for the other heat semi-final of Heat A!
Heat Semi-Final 2
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome back to the coliseum Y4 and Sheer Heart Attack 2!
Roboteers, Standby!

Booth 2: Martijn M Benschop

SMASH!!
This is the stage that Sheer Heart Attack left us last year, crashing out of the competition to WORCK, who is back as WORCK-ER this year and seeded #9; we€™ll see him later on in the series. But now the focus is on Sheer Heart Attack, who has that drum spinning upwards at full speed! Y4 is based on T-Minus, and is essentially a heavyweight version, but it proves its worth now by ramming into the side of SHA2 and sending Martijn tumbling up and over with that flip! But SHA2 is no pushover and comes on the attack with the drum, sending Y4 up and over onto its back! Y4 is quick to self-right and goes back on the attack, flipping SHA2 from the front this time and there€™s so much weight in the drum that Martijn goes high into the air before crashing down hard! And before he can spin up to come back on another onslaught in goes Y4 again, throwing SHA2 far rather that high this time and letting it bounce into the Killsaws! BZZT! SHA2 quickly drives away, and gets the rear wedges under the side of Y4, pushing Christopher into the pit release button! But now Y4 escapes and comes around for a side attack, but SHA2 turns and slams the drum into him, throwing Y4 onto its back yet again! Christopher self-rights and flips SHA2 back over, but it€™s invertible and goes on as normal, spinning up and then turning to meet Y4 again, this time throwing Chris against the arena wall hard! Y4 is really feeling the pain now, but Chris pushes on and flips SHA2 high into the air for it to come crashing back down into the centre of the arena, and Y4 rushes in again to push SHA2 into the Killsaws again! And this time it seems the tracks may have taken some damage, as one of them seems to have been sliced a little! But for now it€™s OK, and SHA2 drives out of there to escapes Y4, who doesn€™t relent and pursues, getting underneath the side of Martijn€™s tracked bot again to once more throw it up and over! SHA2 turns again though and hits Y4 while the flipper is raised, flicking it onto its back! And suddenly Y4 is venting gas- is the co2 supply ruptured? It would seem so, as co2 steams up the coliseum and SHA2 goes into a victory spin! Chris looks on in dismay, and Y4 just sits there on its back- the wheels are spinning, but there€™s no movement as Y4 is on its back and out of the match!
CEASE!
Y4 has a sheer heart attack, allowing the second heart attack to go on to the heat final!
Heat A Final:
Wedge Devolution (1) v Sheer Heart Attack 2
And now we return to the pits to chat with one Christopher Mason about that last fight!
Me: Sad to see Y4 go, Chris.
Chris: Me too. I seemed to be on top at one point, but then Martijn came back and destroyed the co2 supply so I couldn€™t self-right.
Me: Who do you think will win the heat final?
Chris: It€™s hard to choose, as Wedge Devo is the reigning champion, but on the other hand SHA2 is one hell of a robot.
And that€™s it for the heat semi-finals! We€™ll be back after the break with the Heat A Final!
Jeez, you leave the forum for a couple of days only to find your robot destroyed.![]()
Great fight Liam. Very well written.
I thought it was already destroyed :P
Ill go for SHA to pull off a shock in the final.
