Thread: How about this controller?

  1. #11
i use that in my heavy,

what motors are you using in your feather??

why are you looking at such powerful controllers in a featherweight?

if you want everything encased in one unit, buy a sabertooth or scorpian and a radio controlled relay and put them all in a single plastic box from maplins.

If you want an all-singing, all dancing feather controller, stop at a vantec or, if you have the cash, a sidewinder. You don€™t and can€™t get much better.

A sidewinder will also run bosch 750s and 400s (the standard heavy weight motors). Not sure about the mini vantec though.

Yes, they are tried and tested in both feathers and heavys and many people have converted from robteqs etc. to the sidewinder with no problem.

It seems like the best option if you want a feather/heavy speedo, however for a feather, a scorpian XXL does the trick, in a much smaller packet aswell.

The RS80D is similar spec as the Sidewinder, but a much larger box. It is not a bad controller though, a lot of american roboteer like them.

its got a 3rd channel and flip built in and also bec and mixing

So in short it only has a 3d channel as the extra option against the Sidewinder.

Its a bit large in dimensions and specs for a feather, but if you can place it, it is a very nice controller indeed.
