    FINALS
    ELIMINATORS
E CLAWDIUS UNUM VS Seung Mina III

Aim for the sides, scrape my blades underneath that low ground clearance, bring down the claw and never let go. If Im very lucky, I might be able to make Seung Mina misfire and slip under to stick the beak into the flipper workings.

Basically, attack the sides, grapple n pit.

    Final: Semi-Final 1
Calm Down Dear v Super Gore Evo

The first battle of the grand final gets underway! The Heat A winner, Calm Down Dear squares up to Kodys first finalist Super Gore Evo, the winner of Heat D!

The house robots in this round will be Sgt Bash and Shunt!

Lets see how they both got this far...
    Calm Down Dear:
1)Flipped Shunt OOTA and got Matilda on her side in round one, also flipped Worck out of the competition!
2)Rammed Sithis and threw another bot OOTA!
3)Flipped The Zenith out of the heat!
    Super Gore Evo:
    1)Pitted MeCannibal 2.0
    2)Pitted Wedge Devolution
3)...Pitted Another Night at the Bar!
Will SGE get to grips with Calm Down Dear, or will Dave just kill Shunt again?

    Booth 1avid Sheppard
    Booth 2:Kody Kunz
    3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Super Gore heads towards Calm Down Dear, the claws shining malevolently in the death light of robot wars! David tries to flip Kody, but the gripping claws get a hold and both robots rear ends lift up into the air! Calm Down Dear puts its flipper down and Kody drags it into Shunts CPZ!Shunt attacks Super Gore, as it was the first to enter the CPZ and hits a track with the axe! The track has a hole in it, but Kodys bot has only slightly impaired motion after that onslaught!
    FLIP!
Calm Down Dear turns Shunt onto its side, and now gets under for a second attack!
    FLIP!
    Shunt rolls OOTA AGAIN!
Sgt Bash is having none of it and comes in to sort David out!
    FLIP!
Thats another house robot down and out, but still David isnt finished!
    FLIP!
A second house robot lands OOTA!
Meanwhile Kody has pressed the pit release button and refbot has given David a yellow card and is about to show red when...
    FLIP!
All three members of the house robot team are over and out!
But Kody has been saving energy and clamps David again, this time attempting to pit him!
But he was at an awkward angle and David was able to flip Super Gore Evo onto the side wall!
Kody struggles to get his tracks onto the floor, but to no avail and Calm Down Dear comes in for the kill!
    FLIP!
    CEASE!
Three bots OOTA, two of them house robots and Calm Down Dear(Its only a flippin good house robot killer!) is going on to the grand final!!

    Final: Semi-Final 2
Seung Mina III v E Clawdius Unum

The second semi-final is ready to roll, and Kody needs this privilege of a second chance for the title!

The house robots selected for this round are Dead Metal and Cassius Chrome!

Lets see how these two got to this late stage of the competition!
    Seung Mina III:
1)Teamed up with Behemoth to flip Cats With Wheels OOTA!
2)Disposed of Storm II with ease!
    3)Threw Behemoth OOTA!
    E Clawdius Unum:
    1)Crushed Sheer Heart Attack 2
    2)Pitted Nitro-Gene 4.0
    3)Pitted Crimson Thunder
Can Clawdius crush Seung Mina, or will it be lights out for that murderous bot?

    Booth 1:Kody Kunz
    Booth 2:Steven McGregor
    3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Seung Mina III heads in on the attack and tries to get round the side of Clawdius, but Steven turns to meet him and Kody is forced to back off.
This time Clawdius comes on the offensive, and Kody tries to run past it!But he gets caught on the side of Stevens wedge, allowing Clawdius to get a minor grip on the side of Seung Mina!
Steven reverses into the pit release, and the pit drops, waiting for Mina!
But Kody fires the flipper and loosens Stevens grip, then speeds away- a truly great escape!
Steven goes for another full frontal attack, but this time Kody is quicker and runs past Clawdius to fit its wedge underneath the rear end!
    ET TU, BRUTE?
The words are read by a dismayed Steven and a delighted Kody as Clawdius lands head first on the arena floor. It begins to self-right, but Kody drives in underneath and pushes Steven into the pit Clawdius opened!
    CEASE!
And so the final two draws of the contest are decided!
    Play-off:
Super Gore Evo v E Clawdius Unum
    Grand Final:
Calm Down Dear v Seung Mina III

    Tactics/Predictions?

    Curseeees!

Eh, not complaining. The Final 4 isnt bad at all for a completely untested machine.

For the play-off, Im mildly confident that Clawdius front blades are lower than Super Gores skirt strips. Aim for the sides, slip underneath and snap those tracks in two. Thatll teach Kody to rob CDMs heir of an official coronation.

My first final for a while, pretty good when the machine Im using is 2 and a half years old.

Modern Flipper vs. old flipper, I think if I can get Seung onto its back even once it will damage itself self-righting, but that is just theory, my plan is to expose the weakness and ram it from the side, where I wont be hanging about in the drive towards the arena wall, where a simple flip will send Kodys machine over.

After-wards attack the house robots (and I hope Kody does the same if it is my machine ends up on the tracks)

This is a very nice retirement party for Seung Mina III, and you can bet Mina IV will compete in your next tournament Liam.

    Play-off
Super Gore Evo v E Clawdius Unum

Grab that damned thing around the back and pit it ASAP!

    Grand Final
Calm Down Dear, Its Only A Robot v Seung Mina III

Sorry, Dave, but your theory is kinda wrong. Gravitys self-righting didnt really hurt it.

Be aggressive, but not so aggressive as to put myself in a dangerous situation. Go for the sides of Daves old bot, wedge him, carry to the wall, and TOSS!!! Though if Dave wants, we can double-team the house robots first. Sound fun?

Nah, attacking the house robots can be left to the winner

  9. #99
Right, will just have to attack them after the battle then.

    P D IO S:

    ...okay, stop it already...

    THIRD PLACE
Clawdius probably has the advantage over Super Gore, as it can go for the tracks, which will also make SG more difficult to maneuver for a good attack. Clawdius to pit and win...

    THE FINAL OF GRANDNESS
Ill go for Calm Down Dear to get around Seung Mina easily - the third version looks too prone to being attacked at the sides, really. Calm Down Dear to OOTA Seung Mina pretty quickly, unless it misfires a la Bigger Brother/Iron Awe, in which case SM might be able to pull off something. Might.

Good luck Steve, Kody, Dave, and, er, Kody
