Sam Park: Ah yes... I can smell the destruction already. It's Semi-Final 2, and in the previous semi-final, Tira 3 and E Clawdius Unum fought their way through and earned the place for the grand final. Now, which other two will join them? 8 more robots think they have what it takes to earn the first-ever RoboBASH title! ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?????!!!!!
*CROWD CHEERS LIKE HELL*
Sam: All right, LET THE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS BEGIN!!!!
(BATTLE 1!!!)
From Toronto, Ontario, Intrigue!
A very intriguing axe weapon, I must say!
Michelle: I'm back, and standing here with one of my favourite people, Kody Kunz! Kody, Intrigue won Heat I, I believe?
Kody: Exactomundo.
Michelle: OK, so you are up against Yet Another Cut Above the Rest... wow, what a long name.
Kody: Well, he does have a long name, but he won't have a long life in the arena!
Michelle: Hahahaha. Tactics?
Kody: I think I will rush it from the start. Then it won't spin no more. :P Then, I will whack away on the parts which look the softest, and then drag it in to the pit, hopefully.
Michelle: All right, best of luck, and may the best bot win.
Kody: ...which would be my bot, of course!
Michelle: Hahahaha!
Oh no, here we go again...A nice boxy design with a nasty axe powered by a couple of CO2 tanks, and according to Mr. Kunz, that axe is nasty enough to punch through titanium and dent hardox! One word, OUCH! However, I forgot to mention that pneumatics always run out of gas...
In Heat I: Despite a failed team-up with Wheely Pure Evil, it pounded WORCK and Scarmanga into submission.
From Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Yet Another Cut Above the Rest!
Probably the robot with the BIGGEST spinning weapon here? :P
Michelle: All right, Andy, this just in: you're up against Intrigue!
AJ: Mkay. Well, it HAS got a very powerful axe, but it shouldn't really be too much of a worry.
Michelle: M'kay, tactics?
AJ: Rip the axe off, obviously! Then, I'll just rip Intrigue to shreds.
Michelle: You think you can do it?
AJ: Yeah, I think so, but you never know.
Michelle: All right then, best of luck.
AJ: Thank ye.
YACATR is a nice H-shaped robot with a giant spinning disc mounted in the middle, spun by a LEM-200, and induces a hell of a lot of damage to another opponent. It is also completely invertible, but that also means crushers and axes could find its wheels, and there is one in this fight... Hmm...
In Heat K: Ripped Mega Masher apart, and also tore through Cat with Wheels, before taking out Wedge Devo in a huge upset.
Roboteers, Stand By...
Booth 1: Intrigue
Booth 2: YACATR
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!
Immediately, Intrigue zooms out like lightning and crashes into YACATR, temporarily stopping the disc! Uh oh, this is not looking good for AJ here in this battle! Now, it slams YACATR into the wall!
CRASH!
Ouch, that's going to leave a mark... and now, YACATR is finally released, and spins up to full speed, there! Now, Intrigue and YACATR both charge at each other!
CRASH!!!!
Sparks are flying, and the audience seems to love the action! Intrigue charges at the discbot from Shropshire and gives it a violent jab with the hammer before the disc gets up to speed!
WHACK!
YACATR's disc has been impaled, there... and now, this means Intrigue can push it anywhere it wants... and will Intrigue press the pit button? Yes it does, and the pit goes down! Now, Intrigue lets go of YACATR. Bad idea. Immediately YACATR spins up and disc-slaps the axebot from Toronto, and the disc strikes the hardox with massive force, there! Intrigue tries to get away, but...
CRASH!!!!
WOAH! Sparks ahoy, and... OH look at the side panel! It's got a HUGE scratch in it! Now, Kody is not happy with that at all, and he's trying to get AJ for revenge, and now, Intrigue comes in with the axe yet again! Now YACATR gets a huge one in the disc again!
WHACK!!!
OH!!! The axe has made another massive dent in the hardox disc, there! AJ looks a bit frustrated in the control booth, and meanwhile, Kody puts his fists up in the air for joy, and Intrigue is just not letting go of YACATR, and continues to drag it... towards the hammers! The 50kg hammers come down!
WHAM!!!
YACATR is taking some horrible punishment, here! Now, Intrigue decides to let YACATR go again, and now, the discbot spins up! Now, it just slams into the other side of Intrigue which has not been damaged yet!
CRASH!!!
Whoa! The disc scratches the hardox armourment, and sends Intrigue spinning away into a side wall, there! That's good weapon use by YACATR. Now, YACATR is spinning up again, and now it hits the side of Intrigue again... but Intrigue gets away! Great defense by Intrigue, I must say. Now Intrigue charges into the Shrewsbury machine yet again, and slams it down hard with the axe!
WHACK!
Now, using the better traction and pushing power, it drags YACATR ever so close to the pit... now, YACATR tries to get away... but NO! Intrigue grabs YACATR and drags it right into the pit! It's all over in 1 minute and 15 seconds!
CEASE!
Yet Another Cut Above the Rest gets the cut.
Intrigue goes through to the Quarter Finals!
(In the pits...)
Michelle: Well, Mr. Jackson. Things really didn't go that well, eh?
AJ: Yeah, I was in a mess!
Michelle: Tell me, what went wrong?
AJ: He had 4 wheels and I only had 2, so he had the better pushing power, and even though I got some good hits, I eventually ended up in the drink.
Michelle: Well, at least you came out in one piece!
AJ: Haha. :P
Michelle: So, is YACATR going to come back?
AJ: Oh yeah. You bet. Next year, the Final Cut is going to come. Besides, I do have the next battle to redeem myself.
Michelle: All right, we'll be looking forward to that, and thanks for competing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dan O'Hagan: Intrigue's axe overcomes the spinner of YACATR, and next up... what's this? ANOTHER AJ vs. Kody battle! Here is Son of Ripper VS Super Gore Evo, so let's get it on!
(BATTLE 2!!!)
From Shrewsbury in Shropshire, SoR Hex!
It won Heat J after dispatching the former Roaming Robots Champion, Turbulence in the Heat Final.
Michelle: I'm here with Son of Ripper. So, what have you got for us this time, Andy?
AJ: Son of Ripper has got a flipper and spinner combo, and it's also got 4 set-ups for the rear weaponry.
Michelle: Mkay, which setup will you be using?
AJ: The horizontal bar set up.
Michelle: All right then, Super Gore Evo is your opponent for this battle.
AJ: Yeah, but also the sloped sides will definately make it harder for SGE to grab hold of SoR. So, I'll be flipping it all around the arena, box-rushing it, and I'll put it over the fence or into the pit.
Michelle: Best of luck.
AJ: Thank you.
SoR Hex is probably my personal favourite for this Semi-Final, with that spinner on the back and also the giant flipper on the front. It can also run both ways up if it gets flipped, even if it CAN self-right. However, wheels are wheels, and they might get the swipe if it comes in contact with a vertical crusher or a powerful axe.
In Heat J: Beat up Knocking Out, and beat up Nidhogg by a margin of 0.4 points, before finally pitting Turbulence in the Heat Final.
From Toronto, Ontario, Super Gore Evo!
Let's see how much gore will this robot take out from its opponent!
Michelle: Hey Kody, how's it going?
Kody: Spiffing, m'darling. And you?
Michelle: I'm doing great, thanks. Anyway, you are up against... SoR Hex!
Kody: Augh, I have a feeling this is going to be a difficult match.
Michelle: ...and why do you say that?
Kody: It's difficult as hell to grab the sloped sides. I'm going to use the piercing claws this time, to latch onto the top armour. Also, if I can coax the flipper to open, I could grab hold of it, and hopefully break something. Then, I'll just drag it into the pit.
Michelle: All right, now go out there and show 'em what you've got!
Kody: Yeah, you know it.
A box on tracks, it looks like, and not just any box on tracks, it's a box on tracks with pincers! This bad boy has got 2 X 48v LEM-130 Motors, and giant pincers that either pierce or clamp! It will be using the piercing claws for this fight.
In Heat O: It slammed down Radioactive with a bit of help from Liar, burned Turbo Tails and dumped it into the pit, and finally took out its Round 1 partner Liar with a little help from the clamping claws.
Roboteers, Stand By...
Booth 1: Son of Ripper
Booth 2: Super Gore Evo
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!
Immediately, Super Gore Evo is darting forward, and now it crashes into SoR, and tries sinking into it... but no! The sloped sides make it hard to get a hold of! Now, SOR tries getting to the sides with the bar, and smashes into it!
CRASH!!!
Sparks are flying, and the audience loves it! Now, Super Gore charges into the SoR machine, and clamps it once again! Now, it's got a definite grip on it, and SoR gets dragged into the pit button, and the pit opens. SoR now escapes, and gets to the sides of Super Gore again, this time with the flipper!
FLIP!
Nice flip there by SoR, it sends Super Gore 8 feet up and crashing down near the pit! Better get out of there, Kody... and he does, fortunately. Now, SoR is coming in for the kill here again! But Super Gore turns, and clamps SoR, and it's pushing SoR towards the pit! SoR can't get away... OH YES IT CAN! SoR miraculously drives away from the clutches of Super Gore! Very good defense there, by SoR. Now, coming in for the kill again, Super Gore begins to dart forward into SoR, but SoR turns and gets under the rear end of Super Gore!
FLIP!!
Again, the flip sends Super Gore right on its back, but it is dangerously close to the hammers. Kody drives Super Gore towards SoR there, clearly avoiding the hammer! Now, it tries to clamp SoR but it gets away! SoR puts the flipper to use again, and gets under the sides of Super Gore again somehow! Now, it carries the Canadian pincer over to the wall...
FLIP!!!
... and it is NOT high enough to throw Super Gore over the wall! Super Gore bounces off the wall, and SoR's plans are foiled! Super Gore has recovered from that initial attack, and now it SLAMS itself into SoR, clamps it, and tries to drag it over to the saws! BZZT! Oh, how I love thee, dear sparks.Anyway, SoR again slams into Super Gore's side, and this time with the blade...
CRASH!!!
The sparks are flying again, and now Super Gore uses the pincers to grab hold of SoR by the side! Now, it tries to drag SoR over to the pit, but SoR is trying hard to get away... and it eventually does! Great attack there by Super Gore Evo, and a very good defense there by SoR again! Now, SoR gets under the sides of Super Gore again, and carries it towards the wall again!
FLIP!!
What? How'd that not go out?!Super Gore just bounces off the wall again and immediately goes onto its right side up! Will this go to a judge's decision, I wonder? With very limited time, I think it might as well do.
10... 9... 8...
Super Gore Evo clamps the SoR machine from the side again! Now, it's got SoR by the ropes! SoR is being dragged towards the pit there!
7... 6... 5... 4...
OH! It BARELY escapes and now, it gets underneath the great pincer's side, carries it to the wall and FLIPS!
FLIP!
3... 2... 1...
...and again, it's NOT high enough! My goodness, what a great battle this is!
CEASE!
Ooh! What a tense battle that was! However, it is all up to the judges now.
JD: SoR Hex / Super Gore
Style: 3/5 / 2/5
Control: 2/5 / 3/5
Damage: 2.9/5 / 2.1/5
Aggresion: 2.2/5 / 2.8/5
Total Score: 10.1/20 / 9.9/20
Super Gore Evo: the end.
SoR Hex goes through to the Quarter Finals!
(In the pits)
Michelle: OMG! I can't believe Super Gore is out!
Kody: Yeah, but hey, at least I have one bot through.
Michelle: Hahaha. Tell me, what went wrong there?
Kody: He was just all over me, and he got many decisive attacks, too... although I was slightly the more agressive. :P
Michelle: Do you think if you had more time, you could've pulled it off?
Kody: Well, maybe, because if AJ hadn't got out of my clutches, then I would've been able to put him in the drink, but sadly... yeah, it didn't happen.
Michelle: Ouch. Well, you have a robot that is already through to the Grand Final, don't you? Tira 3, I think?
Kody: Yeah.
Michelle: How do you think Tira would do?
Kody: Oh, well that entirely depends on my opponent. If I get a really tough opponent like SoR, then I'm screwed. :P
Michelle: Hahahaha! Aww. Well, thanks for competing, and I hope to see you back again!
Kody: Yes you will.

A nice boxy design with a nasty axe powered by a couple of CO2 tanks, and according to Mr. Kunz, that axe is nasty enough to punch through titanium and dent hardox! One word, OUCH! However, I forgot to mention that pneumatics always run out of gas...
