Im not going to comment on the matter. I have no interest in getting involved in a public debate, Although stu and shane feel strongly enough to make it public, I do thank them.

I have my own feelings, on this matter, and other previous matters where similar situations have arisen, and I cant deny that I am unhappy, as as far as I was concerned I had a verbal contract, and it was public that I was supposed to be doing the event.

At the end of the day, the venue has now done this twice, they came crawling back after last time, and once again they have opted one way or another for a Cheaper Quote. It certainly will be very unlikely RR will be going back to space centre.

Unfortunately robot world as we know it is a commercial one, and has been for a while.

I dont know what all the fuss is about. Robots Live are the nicest bunch of roboteers Ive ever had the pleasure in dealing with and Im damn well sure that they would not have done this just to annoy.

Lets face it, its happened, its in the past, theres nothing that can be done about it so deal with it.

Look Guys,

At the end of the day, two companies went in for the same event (just as they did for the UK champs), the Space Centre chose which option to go for, if John was under the impression that he had a deal in place, then that€™s between him and the venue. Before we quoted we checked with the Space Centre that no deal already existed. If John has any problems with the circumstances, then he is welcome to contact us.

We have just had an email from the space centre, and I quote;

€œAs you might be aware there seems to have been a bit of mis-understanding between my colleague Malika and Roaming Robots, it was not our intention to mess anyone around or play you guys off against one another. I hope no bad feelings are created because of this.€

Seeing as it seems to be only a few members that are upset by the result, these opinions and views shouldn€™t be put on a public forum, which is why I€™m not going to comment on any of the above statements. If anybody has any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch.

As John said, there is a large commercial part now involved within our hobby, this side should never really involve the teams, but has given the community a choice. We decided at the end of 2006 that there was a need for another heavyweight arena; with support from many roboteers we decided to go ahead with it ourselves (I know if we hadn€™t of built one there were at least one other company planning to run one). The competition between EO€™s has benefited the sport in many ways, with bigger and better shows being ran, it has also seen many upgrades and changes to the both arenas, most of which probably wouldn€™t have happened without the added competition.

a few members upset. just cos its me and mr stu that show our views on here i tell you this.....there are more people unhappy with your move than you think. dave i understand you are in love with the youngs and i am in love with the findlays. i dont want to fall out with you personally. its just low down money grabbing decieving people with zero morals i dont like.

i spent a lot of time and effort talking with jonno to pursuade him to attend robots live events and how much it could bring the community together. he of course decided to go and he actually enjoyed it and was planning to attend more. wether he does or not now i dont know. its things like this that upset me the most. behind the scenes there is so much more that goes on that is posted here good and bad. robots live do this and how do you expect me to feel after trying so hard to mend wounds. its just a pointless excersize i now know. i really dont know who i am posting this to but just wanted to get across why things insence me. and i know i cant spell. those that know me best know i mean no harm but also know i have strong feelings and morals.
