Ouch
Ouch
Aaron, I think I got Biatch Beater right, but the promised render would be great to have nonetheless.
Round of 16
Fight 7
The Quaestor vs Biatch Beater
The Quaestor: An axebot, are you kidding me?An axebot in this tournament might see out of place, but Joey thought well of his entry. Other than having an outstanding axe this robot carries the feature of being able to lower its body until the point where no flipper can ever get under it. This machine also makes a good rambot, and there€™s nothing wrong with that.

Biatch Beater: Or Wyfe Beater or B.I.A.T.C.H. B.E.A.T.E.R. or whatever its called nowadays. Aaron brought the beater concept to the world of vapours. Biatch Beater is an invertible box with a big and oddly shaped €œdrum€Â, with an odd weight distribution that makes the drum capable of knocking vapours away easily.

ACTIVATE!
The Quaestor has 2 Magmotors more than the Beater has and abuses this fact in order to impress the audience and burst to Biatch Beater. Aaron has hardly activated his weapon yet when€¦
BANG!
The Quaestor and Biatch Beater meet head-to-head when The Quaestor pulls of a Storm II. The Hardox€™ front hardly gives in under the might of Biatch Beater€™s not-quite-up-to-speed (and now stalled completely) spinner, and The Quaestor (what is a quaestor anyway?) activates its axe!
CLANG!
A hit!
CLANG!
Another hit!
Aaron swiftly drives Biatch Beater away from the clear danger in front of it and creates a small distance before turning the body around! If the beater can€™t do it than at least the rear hinged wedged should be able to do something nice. Aaron proofs this theory by driving into The Quaestor from an angle and by penetrating The Quaestor€™s body! Joey tries his weapon again€¦
CLANG!
Biatch Beater is JUST out of the reach of Quaestor€™s weapon and the axe hits the ground! Joey has more trick up his sleeve however and he raises The Quaestor€™s armour until the point where the wheels can move freely again! Biatch Beater turns around€¦
CRASH!
OUCH! Biatch Beater treats The Quaestor like a rag doll and spanks it up in the are and on its back. Joey quickly flicks the button of his srimech Biatch Beater comes in!
CRASH!
It was not Joey but Aaron who just self-righted The Quaestor. Not only has The Quaestor been invert TWICE, I might also notice the fact that its Hardox starts showing some dents
. Biatch Beater is still spinning swiftly, the machine comes in, and the wall is getting nearer mind you€¦
CRASH!
OOTA!
After 3 humiliating onslaughts, The Quaestor ends up OOTA! The mildly good news is that The Quaestor ends up upside-up, which saves Joey the time of activating his srimech. In order to get back into the arena Joey raises his GC, but Biatch Beater chooses its position so that IF The Quaestor gets back in, he€™ll receive a good clobbering
. Its body raised, The Quaestor chooses to drive around the outside of the arena and get back in somewhere where Biatch Beater can€™t reach him. The Beater gives chase, but The Quaestor€™s speed is superior. After a few metres, The Quaestor sharply turns around€¦

GREAT SUCCESS!
The Quaestor is back in the arena! Enter Biatch Beater who comes in on the axebot. Said axebot prepares for a confrontation, and brings down its axe in an attempt to hit the Beater€™s body!
CLANG!
CRASH!
Joey timed his hit wrong and hits the spinner instead! The axe doesn€™t break, but the weapon doesn€™t slow down either! Instead The Quaestor as a whole is slammed away, but not quite inverted. Biatch Beater keeps on moving!
CRASH!
The Quaestor is knocked up and over, and is truly inverted now! But no worries, The Quaestor knows how to self-right.
Krrrt (lame sound effect, I know)
Krrrt
Or does he? The Quaestor€™s axe doesn€™t do quite what it should do. Was it the axe-to-beater confrontation that damaged it so that there€™s no self-righting left? I believe so, and so do the judges€¦

Awesome fight![]()
A Quaestor was an ancient Roman prosecutor, as far as I remember. Also, the name allows for lots of bad puns when designing future incarnations![]()
Good fights, anyway, even if I lost - well done Aaron.
Round of 16
Fight 8
Namie€™s Style vs Worck
Namie€™s Style: Enter Chezza, a newbie, and one of the more promising I must say. Chezza entered something that holds the middle between your regular rambot and your regular wedge-flipper, essentially a box-flipper. Namie could run inverted if it wishes to, which is a pre in a competition ruled by flippers.
Worck: A basic wedge, but not a basic wedge-flipper. Paul entered one of the few front-hined flippers in this tournament, how successful will he be?

ACTIVATE!
How rare, both machines have a low top speed of 13 mph. Namie€™s start is slightly better and the invertible box has a got at ramming Worck from the side. Paul clearly did some rigorous training however and Worck manoeuvres its way out of Namie€™s Style€™s path. Not only that. Paul also works his way to Style€™s side! The wedge bashes the skirt, but does not quite penetrate it before Namie has another go at outmanoeuvring Worck, but Worck tries the same! As a result, the two fairly new vapours end up side-to-side. This has been a very even match so far where neither of the robots could really take advantage of the other. Chezza suddenly puts his LEMs to good use and in a burst of acceleration Namie viciously attacks Worck! At first Namie only hits Worck€™s side skirts, Worck is pushed a bit with Worck€™s wheels giving a fair bit of restistance, but then€¦ but then€¦ Namie gets well under Worck! Will he push him? Worck still has too much contact with the floor for that€¦
FLIP!
Chezza goes for that other option€¦ flipping! Worck is on its back now, but it has essentially the same weapon Firestorm had, and we all know what Firestorm does when on its back, don€™t we? With a flip and before Namie can take advantage, Worck is back on its wheels, and also back on the attack! Worck has a quick go at Namie€™s front corner, and what€™ya know, Worck flips Namie! Namie is invertible however, and speeds away from Worck before nasty things could happen. Worck, however, gives chase. Namie€™s Style caught some distance now and activates its flipper, throwing itself back on its wheels. Worck has been closing in however and reaches Namie€™s corner€¦
FLIP!
All this chasing around pretty much cornered Namie and there€™s nowhere Namie can really go atm, Worck is closing again€¦
FLIP!
Worck, a front-hinged flipper mind you, LEVERED NAMIE€™S STYLE OOTA! The already inverted Namie€™s Style, mind you, which means Namie€™s Style NOW is upside-up, which means it doesn€™t have to self-right, which means it can€™t self-right back into the arena whatsoever! Drama! The have been counting quite a while already when Namie tries to drive back in!

WOOT! Unlucky Chezza, well done to all the Quarter-Finalists, and good luck to whomever Im facing .
By the way Martijn - a FANTASTIC battle for WORCK there - I was excited all the way through.
I predict GeForce to win the tournament.![]()
Quite a hasty prediction there, Kody![]()
I predict a flipper will win this tournament![]()
Which happily for all of us puts Biatch Beater out of the running(That by the way is a joke)
