I hope this link works. The switch in the picture is probably the type of thing they use.
To modify a robot in the UK with this switch (with 2 keys) instead of a removable link would not be too hard for most robots.
That is the type we used on KHz - as used on many race/rally cars. You would probably still need a hatch to protect it.

Our Australian freinds also use that, apparently they dont like links :P (or other people disarming their robots (Ie arena marshals))
