Thread: A bit of forward thinking

  1. #1
    hi all

in both psycho fling, and block of wood we have the problem of when wanting to go forward we go off in a tangent ever so slifghtly, not in a straight line

how to solve this is my question?

both are electronize controllers, with drill motors

    any help welcome

put forward on and adjust your trims to make it go in a straight line

Gyro? Or would that not help?

Gyros are sometimes tricky things, but they are a good idea in a two wheel drive robot. I am putting one is Asgard. Also Alex you will have problems with the electronise not setting off at the same time as it relies on the relays for power. So if your trims are out one side will set off first.

No point in a gyro, set up your drive proply to go forward right, also having a gyro is something to blame on if your driving was crap lol

i run a gy401 in my trex 600 rc heli what self compensates (spelling lol) side winds, lets say if a left side gust hits the heli the gyro will feel it and apply right to compensate, to keep the front straight

I have used electronize speedos in my two wheel drive version of red dave. Didnt have an issue with going fowards, just make sure its all set up well and that.
Possibly a slight issue with one side of the drive? One drill motor might be more nackered then the other. I find my two wheel drive robots will veer off to one side if there is a slight issue with one side of the drive.
Not an issue with 4wd robots.
