As Alex says, all the information on robots on the RR database is provided by the teams themselves. Some robots admittedly dont have all the fields filled in and it would be good if the teams could do so, because it would keep everything on the database accurate, full and up-to-date.
Paul, one reason theres no need to be so specific with database stats as in fanfic is that these robots are real. Fanfic writers rely on so much information so that they can get an accurate idea of how the robot will perform, its potential flaws and pitfalls and to generally gain a idea of how the robot looks (often aided by some awesome renders guys) Real robots dont have writers describing their battles, they actually compete, so any pitfalls and flaws in the design will become apparent in battle and can been seen and watched by people, therefore less detail is required as everything is played out in real life
