Playing devils advocate John, arena flippers are just as powerful as many heavies. DB5 has hit the roof on many occasions.

Just a big thanks to all that attended the event, turned out to be a great show. Well done to Big Nipper going home with the title after their break, and well done to Eric for getting White Knight to its first final. Thanks to all who came up to us with the positive comments regarding the event and other matters.

The venue have asked us to go back next year, well let you know what we decide (also dates for next year; Whitwick 7th & 8th Feb, Burgess Hill 28th & 29th March).

not that i remember no i think it may have in dublin but i dont know i dont go to that event so i cant really tell my dad to take it out the arena when it goes in but it wouldnt have been in the arena with a flipped anywhere near as powerful as iron awe (obviously iron awe wouldnt have flipper you on purpose but the robot could have gone on a mad one and got you - unlikely but could have)

but like ed said the arena flippers are just as powerful as RR arena ram is the old beast ram i think

but it was abit of a shock seeing a feather in with iron awe which is one of the best flippers

i was right behind geoff at the uk champs when i saw how tanto (a 50kg bot?) went flying into the wall - that was dtk flipping but if it was iron awe i think it would be gone over the screens which would have been nasty

u might think im taking the mick but if a robot goes out the roof and hurts someone our hobby could be over - you havent been around for long but iv been around for years and i know its sad to say but this is part of my life now

obviously the nets on the roof are strong enough though or there would be a rule change but isnt there weight classes fighting the same weight class for a reason?

i cant be bothered to talk about this anymore though as ed said the arena flippers are just as powerful as heavys - i just dont want to see anything go wrong like no one would
