Thread: How featherweights have changed!

  1. #1
I was just looking back through a few old videos and I noticed just how far featherweights have come over the last few years.
As an example take a couple of my robots.

Here is a video of my first feather from 2002- Tidal Wave
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYOS2rb5okY&mode=related&search=

It was really simple with 2 drills for the drive with servo driven switches and a Rexs robot challenge flipper.
It was all made out of steel and aluminium and the flipper arm was only 2mm alminium.

5 years later I now have shockwave which is a much improved version with polycarb armour and a low pressure CO2 flipper.

Also a bit later than intended I am finally starting work on Tidal Wave 2 with a much improved low pressure flipper with a nice big ram an valve.

Also if anyone else has a few pics of their older robots that they want to share, we can all see how your robots have developed over the last few years as well.

    Just something I found interesting.
