Thanks Kody - actully, I need them for the speed aspect of the robot, but thanks anyway.

I dont think a spinner needs much speed, just maneouverability. If its too fast, then itll go out of control. Typhoon 2 IIRC had a 12mph top speed (or was it 8mph?) 25mph is WAAAAAAAY too much. When you get up to that drive speed, and your weapon is up to full spinning speed, gyroscopic tendencies will cause you to end up on your back.
Just a pointer.
Typhoon was at 18mph. Look, Kody, Im using a translational spinner system, which Antony Politzi uses for Cyberdemon, which moves at 35mph. I dont plan on making an enemy before we even have a fight (with vapourbots)
Im not trying to either. Im just saying that bots with spinning weapons and fast drive speeds are highly unstable.
can you make a drawing of it? I am inclined to agree with Kody on this one, but i would like to see what you have in mind.
I could be wrong on this, but I think a translational spinner with 0 mm GC skirts is a recipe for disaster.
25 MPH is too fast, unless you mean spinning speed. If that is the spinning speed, whats the movement speed?
I just have a few things to say please:
Leo: I cant draw it up, because I dont have that type of software on my computer
Frank: As I have said, Im basing Grizzly Bear on Cyberdemon (Stats here, If Im correct)
Name: Cyberdemon
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Turtle Road Kill
Speed: 35mph
Armor: 6mm Hardox 600
Power: 3 S28-400 Magmotors on 24v with 2 Palasonic 12vs powering them. Also, 2 2kg CO2 tanks for the self righter.
Weapon: Like Heart of Fire, the bot IS the weapon. It has a Y-Drive which allows it to spin and move, though pretty uncontrollabley. Its high speed makes it extremley destructive, as well. The many teeth also allow for quick hits due to the decent torque. Also, theres now a self righting plate that pops out sideways [its the white square on the top] It dosent have too much power to self right, but hopefully it wont need to self right TOO much.
GC: 6mm.
Strengths: EXTREMLEY Destrutive.
Weaknesses: nasty control.
And also, Im going to admit, although I have before, I dont have the faintest idea on how to build a robot. I just thought, make a translational spinner with a bar on.
As far as my concerns go, Cyberdemon doesnt have skirts, although what I said about speed applies to that too.
No, you see, I need the skirts to strike low on flipper blades. Grizzly Bear is sort of an flipper-killer, and the skirts help me on that.
You dont need skirts, just low teeth. Skirts on a machine that has to attack by spinning around, and moves while spinning are likely to drag around on the floor and cause control problems, or if theyre on normal loose hinges will probably be lifted up by the force, negating the effect they were put there for.
