hope not, Ive been running AM sets for 4 years now, without any reception or failsafe problems

AM radios are unlikely to be banned, but is certainly not appropriate for use on heavyweights.
I agree.
mine were used on underweight feathers, 5 and 6kg, without weapons
are we still highly recommend the use of PCM 40mhz sets as well as spektrums? standard 40mhz sets were not recommended in the past.

i think it foolish to ban am, i mean the sport is in a decline in my opinion, so i think we need to get as many ppl back in even if they use set componants
The only reason its being debated is the inherent susceptibility by nature for AM radios to more easily pick up interference - while FM sets are now available at near-equally low prices I cant imagine a restriction would have a tremendous effect.
I do like the look of these Spektrum things.
Ive only ever used 40mhz FM PPM and never had any problems. I do know people who have had issues with pcm sets.
I have run robots on FM PPM, PCM, and Spektrum 2,4GHz. The only problem i ever had with PCM was setting up the failsafes for the very first time. After getting the hang of setting these up with my Robbe FX-18, Ive never looked back. The extended range i got over regular PPM was reason enough for me. The only reason I switched to Spektrum really was: no more crystals.
