Thread: Welding help

  1. #1
    hi all

i have nearly finished the cutting of my box section, and once it is complete done i intend to weld it.

unfortunatly i cant weld so would require a talented roboteer to do it for me. Any offers?

this may seem like a familar post, but im just see what offers are still open

also before getting it welded would all the holes need to have been drilled?

    thanks alex

  3. well its alot easier to drill them as single pieces of box as it can be difficult to get into places when its all welded up but if all the holes are in simple places to get to you could weld it up first. i always drill first. you should be able to find sombody close that will weld it up for you.

If they are lightening holes then you can drill them anytime. If they are for positioning components I would do it afterwards as welding can slightly warp box section and things can be put slightly out of alignment.

  6. You get very good at filling them in when you start out

Alex, I will happily weld it for you. But you will have to let me know how it was to go together etc and when you need it doing for. Also have to bring it down or see me at an event.
