so is there any cluster bots about now?

  2. #142
when i get my robot dimensions sorted out who or where is the best place to get polycarb cut?

  3. #143
Do it yourself with a wood saw, would be the cheapest method.

  4. #144
That or a jigsaw or table saw. Depends how far your current equipment/depth of pocket goes

i want it to be neat

what do you guys prefere, 75 or 100 mm wheels for invertable ram bots? i was thinking 100mm befor because i wanted to use a 4 bar lifter or a vertical spinning disk (like tornados) but i didnt think id fit them into a body with only 50mm height but now im unsure

Straightest of cuts on the scale youre looking at can usually be done on a table saw. Cheapest of those could be picked up for around £90 - some plastic suppliers may offer a cutting service at extra cost. Depends what kind of investment you want to make.

what would u reccomend as far as wheels go would i be able to fit a 4 bar lifter in with 75mm wheels? or if i decide to go for a spinner whats the smallest size spinning disk you would recommend?

Youve got to think that if you go for 75mm wheels, you need 3mm ground clearence on top and bottom (69mm so far). Then armour, again depends on what you plan to use, say 8mm (4 top and bottom). So at tis point you only have 60mm is for the lifter mechanism, or the drum. Which doesnt give you a lot of scope, but if you can design what you want into that space go for it.

Just use a jigsaw and keep to the line. If you take it slowly you will get a nice clean line. Far cheaper option than buying a table or band saw.

would i be able to fit a 4 bar lifter in with 75mm wheels?

I dont know, design one to fit in the space. That is half the fun of building robots!

if i decide to go for a spinner whats the smallest size spinning disk you would recommend

How long is a piece of string?

I would recommend for your first spinner, 25cm diameter and 1000rpm. It wont be spectacular but it will allow you to understand all the problems that crop up with a spinning disc.
