And so our competitors are after each other faster, much faster, than as fast as the tournament started. It€™s Axeon, accelerating out of his spot so fast it makes him seem like a blur, who charges into the champ. Salamander turns around and just moves of range, its wheel cutting an arc in front of Axeon€™s wedge as it passes by. With its disc nearly up to speed, Salamander tries to turn around and strike Axeon, only to find Axeon has moved right behind him! Alarmed, Alex tries to rush away, but CLANG! Axeon brings down the axe, right onto Salamander€™s disc! It€™s foiled by the hardox, but nonetheless it manages to stop the disc from achieving anything other than becoming stationary. With the champ firmly in its grasp, Axeon heads over to one of the CPZs, raising the axe as he does so. Eventually Salamander gets pushed into Double Whamlet. Obelix Bulguous remains where he is, waiting. WHACK! The twin axes fall, right onto the axle of Salamander but no damage gets done to the 3mm hardox. CLANG! Axeon uses its own axe now, but again no damage is dealt. It seems Obelix is tired of waiting around because he€™s left the CPZ and...slammed right into Axeon! BANG! The hammer falls...and misses! Instead it€™s the hammer axle that smacks into Axeon€™s top and bounces the hammer back! Axeon can€™t seem to turn around, and seems to be trapped...OH! Axeon is pushed into Salamander, and the champ is on Axeon€™s wedge now, supported by Whamlet! Axeon withdraws the axe and fires it again, only to copy Obelix and hit Salamander€™s axe with his own axe arm. Obelix pushes, and Whamlet pushes, and Axeon is now breached at the rear by Obelix€™s wedge and Salamander falls out of harm€™s way! This means that Whamlet is sent into Axeon€™s front. He hastily gets out of the way as Axeon fires his axe again, missing. Obelix has had enough fun for now and retreats back to his CPZ as Salamander runs rabid across the arena, flywheel now spinning freely. Axeon spins around, leaves the CPZ edge, and rams him at the wheel, raising it. WHACK! Another good axe blow, and this time, there€™s some damage! A nice dent in that 3mm hardox, right in the middle of the axle! Talk about getting in the middle of things!
...okay, bad joke. Anyway, here€™s Salamander now, about to make Axeon pay for that hit. Axeon backs off, and tries to turn and move away from the incoming hazard, but Salamander is too quick.
CRASH!!!
Ah, our first real blow, and it€™s quite a lovely one at that, sending countless sparks flying across the arena instantly! Axeon is spun around viciously, now having the rear end exposed. This gives Salamander another opportunity to spin up his disc, and Alex beams. Unfortunately, that hit didn€™t really do any damage to Axeon€™s wedge. AJ backs Axeon up, quite fast, reversing ramming Salamander with his enemy€™s disc half-spun up.
CRASH!
Not bad, but the titanium/vanadium rear only takes a small dent from that rather weedy blow. This also turns Axeon around again. It€™s AJ€™s turn to beam now as Axeon rams into Salamander and wedging him sends the champ flying into the wall! WHAM! Salamander ricochets off the top, almost pulling a wheelie, and gets away before any more harm is done to him. Axeon gives chase once more, and that drive of Axeon€™s is working like a charm because Salamander can€™t seem to get away from Axeon€™s advances. Alex then suddenly tries something risky. Salamander starts to drive himself into Axeon€™s wedge, and he goes right up onto it - hey hey! We have a gliding Salamander! A nice tactic from Alex, the disc barely hitting the floor but enough so to send Salamander off the wedge and out of harm€™s way! And you know what else? The disc is still spinning.A slight shock for AJ, but shaking it off he bores down upon the axlebot, confident that the front wedge can take many a beating.
CRASH!!!
Axeon crashes into Salamander€™s disc, and gets sent flying across the arena, the wedge seemingly impervious to those harsh blows. Another spin-up, and Axeon is back at him again, but Salamander arcs away with a clockwise spin, Axeon going right by him. Salamander doesn€™t wait for the disc to hit top speed, instead taking the advantage while it€™s there for him...which it now isn€™t. Axeon gets away...and stops a metre later, faced with the arena wall. He turns. Not swiftly enough, I€™m afraid.
CRASH!!!!
WHOA! Now that€™s just cruel! Axeon€™s side takes a huge hit, and receives a wide gash across the center, exposing the drivetrain inside! Not only that, but it€™s smacked Axeon against the wall, the damaged side up against the arena wall! Salamander retreats away as Axeon gets off the wall and comes at him, AJ teeming with rage. Salamander makes an arc again, to try and fool the leader of Team ???, but Axeon is not going to be that easily fooled again. Axeon drives right into Salamander and wedges him - whoa! Salamander€™s disc hits the ground again, sending the champ across the floor and away from the dangerous axe which - CLANG! - came down just as Salamander spun off the wedge. A tad too late, I€™m afraid, Mr. Jackson. Axeon makes a U-turn and box-rushes the now fully potent flywheel.
CRASH!!!
Well, it seems that it isn€™t completely damage-proof after all. It€™s very small, but there is a dent in that wedge, now visible after seeing a display of those beautiful sparks again.Axeon€™s spun again, but it€™s a 360 and he rushes Salamander again immediately afterward. Salamander spins to the other side, but Axeon stops, lines the front wedge up quickly, and charges his adversary. WHAM. He€™s got €˜em, and he€™s taking €˜im to the cleaners! WHAM! Salamander is smacked into Obelix€™s CPZ! Obelix greets the axlebot with a wedge to the rear and a BANG - ooh. It sucks to miss, doesn€™t it Obelix?
Axeon however isn€™t going to miss this chance and tackles the champ disc-first, bringing down the axe. WHACK! The axle takes punishment once more, as Salamander lays there helplessly, left to the spoil of the axes! Whamlet charges at Salamander€™s side from across the entire arena, and Axeon sees his chance. He backs off, and before Salamander can get away from Obelix, in comes Whamlet with the plow - WHAM! Another tackle, and Axeon moves in, gets the near wheel of Salamander...WHACK! It€™s good! A direct hit on the wheel, and the rubber is sliced right apart! WHACK! Whamlet adds to Alex€™s misery, causing another slight dent in the axle. BANG! Obelix finally lands a blow on the disc, but it€™s ineffective. Axeon retracts his own axe and lets it fly again. WHACK! The aluminium boron carbide wheel is smacked, getting damaged quite nastily!
10...9...8...7...
Whamlet retreats away, as he€™s taken his fill, but Axeon ain€™t nowhere near done yet.WHAM! Salamander is smacked against the wall in the CPZ.
6...5...4...
WHACK! A hit on the disc from Axeon! No damage. BANG! A hammer blow from Obelix! Still no damage.
3...2...1...
Axeon lands in another blow. WHACK! A hit on the axle, and one of the previous dents is made bigger...
CEASE!
Ah, doesn€™t look good for our champ, but let€™s see what went down with our judges.
