Andrew:- Not sure (as I do not have a bot) if you can get there on Saturday, to take part in the show. If you can you will need to be EARLY! The show starts at 09.45 this year, so I expect the trafic to build up from about 06.00ish. That is going on last year.

We got there about 3/4 of an hour before the gates opened,(this year like last 07.30) and there was a line of trafic about 1/2 a mile long.
I know you will have special passes but you will still have to wait in the line of traffic.

just home for a few hours... well just about to start moving house ,..,. all go !!!

Well done to all the robots, i don€™t think I€™ve seen so many broken robots get mended in all the events we€™ve done... snapped shafts, broken chains, burnt motors... you name it we had it.

The feedback from Riat was once again nothing but positive, that was shown by the amount of interest we had even when it was raining.

Boy oh boy were we lucky with the weather again, only a few showers!!!!

We had our own fair share....

Geoff thinking the soldering iron was a hot dog and picked up the hot end.
Swanny helping take the arena down decided to whack himself on the head with a hammer... not nice at all

All in all another excellent event, and well done to the feather weight teams who organised their own competition, and to Weird Alice, who were the stars of the show!!

Looking forward to next year already.

Had great fun over the weekend and between Jenny possibly breaking her finger and Geoffs soldering iron mishap I felt sure I should have put M.A.S.H. on the campsite tent

Heres something I found on the RIAT website:

    quote:

Battling Robots - Back by popular demand is the spectacular €˜Robot Arena€™ where fighting machines are set to cause metal mayhem as they battle their way to victory. Im sure we will be back again by popular demand given the crowds that gathered round for each and every fight.

Finally, a big royal to YKW for walking right past us on Sunday afternoon without even looking in!

Weve always liked this event but Alice doing so well was just icing on the cake. Thanks to Jonno for the help with the batteries and to everyone else for a making it such a good week-end.
