Thread: 2.4Ghz radio control

  1. #71
As the 2.4ghz setup is still not noticed as an acceptable frequancy it would be a good idea to leave it in the saftey thread while it is still being tested. Im sure if the moderators felt the same way as you they would change it.

Who gets the final say in allowing this fequancy and when will it get legalised? Im interested in getting a setup but dont want to buy anything until im sure i wont have to send it back

Youre right James, some things discussed in this topic are not safety related. But in general this topic has been all about testing and seeing if approval can be given to this TX/RX standard.

Since we are on the virge of changing our ruleset anyway as it seems it might be a good idea to incorparate the acceptance of 2.4Ghz TX systems with the rest of them?

If you are planning on running the spectrum set at future events, please contact the organiser of the event to ensure they have no problems with running this frequency.

However, providing your robot passes the tech check you are unlikely to have any problems.

David, this is exactly the thing James doesnt want and he is right about that. Great link, but it should be in the for sale thread.

Please be aware that there are two receivers available for the spectrum DX6.

The AR6000 does not have preset position failsafes on all channels and is NOT suitable for combat robots.

The receiver you need is the BR6000.

The general info on here is about safety, but who cares if a single comment is put in about why they bought it? infact i found alot of the things on here useful aswell as safety related!

Anyhow, Just to point something out as im not sure everyone knows- the DX3 transmitter is perfectly legal in this country for any application BUT the DX6 is not!
The DX3 has a 10w output, and the DX6 has 100w deaming it illegal at the moment. within the month they should be legal (this is for planes as the transmitter is built for, but not 100% sure about cars)
