i think its important that this sort of thing is said in public.

That way everyone knows how stupid some people sound, saying that you cant do something that many people have done for years, and claiming to be experienced in this and that when daddy built all your robots for you.

Sorrry to get in your face grant, but having used compressors since day 1, 1: they dont blow up, 2:they dont cost lots because of point 1, and 3: yawn..... like you know what you are talking about.

Thanks for the tip Gary, it is bad that there is a conflict here, but its no worse than on the vapourbot thread, people there argue about stuff they know nothing about aswell, but then thats allowed because they are made up robots.

Its long overdue making it clear what I think of certain people and their claimed experience and knowledge. Now Im up to date. Dont make me post pics of the years of experience in buiding robots

A frank exchange of views is often no bad thing. However- rather than assume other builders opinions and experiences are wrong or made up or due to incompetance (or whatever), its as well to remember that, yes, peoples experiences with various products and techniques may differ. As James suggests, the views expressed in this thread arent mutually exclusive. Different builders may use different compressors in different implementations for instance. Hardly suprising that results may vary! If James says hes built successful and inexpensive machines based on the pneumatic system he describes, I take it for granted thats true. If thats his experience its not suprising hell recommend something similar to others. Its also perfectly reasonable (and useful) to sound a note of caution based on bad experiences with cheap compressors, but theres surely no need to insult the intelligence or abilities of another builder when expressing these views?

Please bear in mind this is a public forum. It is read by our fans, our potential fans, and for some; people you may wish to do business with.

It is perfectly possible to express opinion without personalising the situation.

James. Cutlets hole is to vent his ram, so all the pressure leaves. This is a sensible idea, in that circumstance. Also I know about RRC. If it wasn€™t for that competition I wouldn€™t be were I am today.

Dave, calling James pathetic falls firmly into that category and therefore as a result of your actions your account has been suspended for 48 hours - simple cause and effect as was warned.

The Forum is not here to act as a podium to attack each other personally.

hmmm so james insulting daves ability isnt a personal attack? sorry but it sounds like double standards to me?
Ill make it very clear, Me and Dave have been friends for a fair while, James and I have know each other for a while and i hold him in high regards but to dismiss someones advice because u dont see them as being very knowllegable is down right rude. All dave did was offer some advice if hes wrong there are other ways to say it without attacking him the way you did.
If forum Admin is that concerned about the way the conversation was going then it should have been locked then we could of avoided this situation.
If anyone wants to raise this further i suggest u do so in private you have my email

I have a response to that one, and its probably not what you are expecting.

I half agree, I was not penalized for suggesting that dave is not very knowledgeable, but that occured BEFORE the FRA admin warning, Dave insulted me an hour after that warning... so I see your point about percieved double standards, but I hope that clarified why it happened.

I also owe Dave an appology, if my earlier statement appeared to suggest that your father built your robot, I know that is not the case and I was not refering to you, I was of course refering to Grant, who to his credit has never denied that his robot was built for him by his dad.

Appologies to all that this got out of hand, and thanks to Craig for giving me a verbal slap. I take it happily as its from a roboteer I also respect. Maybe in future we should not be so quick to jump on the letss disprove what James says wagon, because lets be honest, I do over-react.
