What about Killertron? They had an axe that was attached to a flywheel. It probably doesnt count though because I dont think the flywheel was spun up before the axe was fired but I might be wrong.

Steve got that one, Killertron did use a flywheel, but it was driving a weapon, not being used as one.

I liked The Prince of Darkness, it was very amaturish, but it won both the gauntlet and the robot snooker outright
