Thread: MacFan Fic - Season 1

  1. #1
Well, I thought it was about time I started and tortured you! =D

    Time for some rules:

I need any amount of people (8 people is the minimum, 1000 is the max =P) to enter robots. Obviously. You each are allowed to enter 1 (And only one) realie each. The amount of robots total that you enter must be a power of two, so it can be 2, 4, 8, 16. Although I cannot stop you from entering 16, I would strongly suggest against it. The entries will close once I have 64 robots. If I dont get that much, Ill ask for people to enter more (If they can spare it), as well as add some other real robots into the mix.

When you enter, I want you to obviously give stats. The usual format please. Also, when you enter a realie, I would like a linked picture of it upon demand. I will only ask for it if I do not know the robot that well, so you dont have to give one for Panic Attack or Firestorm or whatever. And with your main robots, I encourage that you enter pictures. No matter how crappy, I encourage you to do so. You dont have to, but itd be nice.

    03. The weight limits are 100kg for wheeled robots, 110kg for shufflers and tracked robots, and 150kg for walkers.
    04. Clusterbots are allowed - there is a 2 part limit for them. A clusterbot is eliminated if one or more parts of it are destroyed.
    05. Robots with passive or no weaponry are allowed. Flying robots are banned.
    06. Robots with interchangable weaponry are allowed. You must say when you first give your stats that your robot has interchangable weaponry, and what those weapons are. If after giving your stats, you come up with a new interchangable weapon you didnt mention before, or change one you did mention, the new weapon or change cannot be used. There is a max of 3 interchangeable parts. Sorry Slammer, but it just gets too complicated.
    07. Basic Battlebots rules on what is and isnt allowed apply to anything I havent mentioned. No flammable weapons or electric weapons or anything of the like, but I hope that that is a given.

This tournament will work a little bit differently than you are used to. All robots will start in a 4-way rumble. The top two will go through to the knockout stages. The difference here is that to decided the brackets for the knockout stage, the top two robots will be separated by how well they did. (EX: Say that Tengu, Tails, Novastorm, and Flaming Hell were in heat A. Novastorm was knocked out first, then Flaming Hell, then Tails. Tails would then, in the knockout stages, face the winner from heat P, whereas Tengu would face the loser from heat P. This would encourage you to do well in your heat, and not slack off while the rest are eliminated. If the time runs out, then it will go to a judges decision to see who won.)

The time limit for each match is 3:00, on the exact dot.

In judges decisions, the robots are marked on Aggression, Damage, and Control. 15 points goes toward each category, and that 15 is split between the two on how well they did. (EX: For the aggression, say that Tails rammed Tengu a lot, and Tengu spend a lot of the match running away. Tails would win that category 12-3. Tails getting 12 points, while Tengu got three. This is the same for all categories.)

    The definitions for each were:
Aggression - This is how much you chased your opponent down, and didnt run away.
Damage - How much pain you inflicted upon your opponent.
Control - How dominant you were. Its all good if youre inflicting damage, or continually ramming the other guy, but if theyre giving you a beating and controlling you, this category isnt yours.

    No house robots, they suck.

Since I love you alllllll so much, I went and made a CAD of the arena for you!

The wall spikes can NOT be bent, by any means. They are that strong. Same with the wedged wall, and the floor. None can be damaged. You can, however, break the hazards; the saws (end and middle) and floor spikes.

The end wall saws of DOOM! - Running at 8000RPM, these will really kill you. They have 50lbs force behind them.

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/5466/macarena20by.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/5...carena20by.jpg

The middle saws of not so great DOOM! - These only go at a mide 1000RPM, and have just 15lbs of metal going behind them. Theyre good for bending wedges upwards, however, and shearing hinged wedges off!

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/8072/saws0xe.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/8072/saws0xe.jpg

Pokey spikes in the middle - These dont do much damage, unless you have really really bad armor. Theyre more used for flipping so watch out!

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7986/spikes9ix.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7986/spikes9ix.jpg

Wedged wall; used to highcenter opponents, and maybe even flip them! =O

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/3241/wedgedwall8cu.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/3...gedwall8cu.jpg

You CAN get OOTAs in this, but looking at the way the wall is formatted, you can guess itll be hard. Firestorm flippers are almost guarenteed not to get OOTAs here. Almost.

Also with special wall to protect my lovely contestants! =)

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4605/wall5og.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4605/wall5og.jpg
    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6060/contestants4at.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6...estants4at.jpg

For one on one matches, the contestants start in the red and blue squares.

    http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7992/startingsquares9sh.jpghttp://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7...squares9sh.jpg

For a one on one on one on one, two contestants start in the red and blue, while the other two start evenly spread on the wedges wall side.

    Side events anyone?
ENIALATION EVENT! The annihilator, only 10 robots from the main competition can enter. One per person.
OTHERWEIGHTS?!?!?!?! Yup, everyone can enter 2 of each class at the max. Im hoping for 16 robots in each class. And yes, you dont have to do the main event to do this.
    Antweights (100-150g; 125-225g for walkers)
    Featherweights (4-12kg; 4-18kg for walkers)
    Lightweights (12-35kg; 18-52kg for walkers)
    Middleweights (35-60kg; 52-90kg for walkers)
    Superheavyweights (101-150kg; 151-200kg for walkers)
Eight robots (Vapour or real) can be entered in each weight class - each person can only enter one robot in each weight class. If a weight class doesnt have enough entrants, I will enter realies into it.

Thats probably everything. Tell me if I missed something out. NOW ENTER! PARCE QUE JE LU DI!!! BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!

Im in, and PLEASE, do me a favour and finish this, all the tourneys Ive entered are frozen ATM.

    Flaming Hell

    Weight: 100kg
    Dimensions: 90x90x60 cm
Weapon: a triangular spinning cage with 3 sharpened bot openers on each end, weighing 5kg each, spinning at 3000 RPM, powered by a Lemco on 36v
Power: 2x Bosch 750 motors at 24v (its been made so that the cage motor gets 36v but the drive only gets 24, as the drive is ok as it is on 24V)
Shape: circular base with triangular cage atop
    Speed: 15mph
    Drive power: 4bph
Notes: small electric actuators in the rotor arms in order to self right. They have been shock proofed so that the weapon impact will not bust them, and the cage spins 2mm from the ground. Small bearings for the cage and the far set apart wheels give it increased stability for a FBS
    Turning Circle: 0cm
    Armour: 3mm titanium
Wheel Type - 4 small wheelbarrow type wheels (no need for great traction)
    Strengths: Power of cage
Weakness: Unpredictable bounce off from an opponent

    Hell Machine

    Weight: 100kg
    Dimensions: 140x100x60 cm
Weapons: Lemco motor powered axe (run through gear box) that can deliver an axe blow of 3 tons (according to my calculations) and rear linier actuator operated lifting arm that can flip 600kg
Srimech: Side arms and rear arm
    Speed: 15mph
Transmission: a 4 wheeled Tornado set up(36v and same gearing), but with a pair of Mag C40€™s in place of the Bosch motors, and a set of NiMh in place of the heavy Lead Acids the real thing uses.
    Turning Circle: 0m
Ground clearance: 0 at the scoop and wedge edge, 2mm the rest of the way around
    Wheel Type: Go-kart
Body Shape: scoop fronted, wedged back
Armour: 8mm Grade 5 Titanium and 2mm stainless steel
Colour: Black with flame face on scoop and name in blood writing on side, devil head on rear wedge
Strengths: Enormous pushing power (About 12hp), EXTREMELY powerful axe, relentless in attacking (until a robot is immobile)
Weakness: Dislikes spinners, doesnt like weapons that use carbon

    Name: Sheer Hell
    Weight: 100kg
    Dimensions: 150cm x 80cm x 120cm
Shape: low angled box with disc on the front like 13 black and rear 259 disc, style
Weapons: A front mounted Horizontal spinning disc and a rear mounted vertical spinning disc, both running at 4500rpm and delivering a blow of 75kj
    Top Speed: 13 mph
Transmission: 4 Rubbertex coated aluminium wheels (Rubbertex is a grippy rubber substance used on the K*bot tables) run on a Smidsy type wheel system, and run by a pair of Bosch 750€™s and a bank of Ni-cads to give me more weight for armour
    Armour: 8mm Titanium
GC: 3mm either side and back, 7mm under the disc at the front, variable at the sides of the disc
Srimech: powerful electric arms mounted on the top
    Turning Circle: 0cm
    Strengths: devastating weapons
    Weakness: carbon based weapons
Notes: will NEVER turn the vertical flywheel into an opponent as it will throw SH over. Also, counter-acting discs (vertical and horizontal) will keep it stable, and if it is flipped, it does a funny jig in the air before coming down, most of the time, right way up

    Name: Flipping Hell
    Dimensions: 120cm x 80cm x 40cm
    Weight: 100kg
Shape: steep wedge front, elongated wedged tail (not used as a weapon)
Weapon: 1000psi 2 pivot pneumatic flipper that can generate enough momentum and force to throw a 100kg robot 25ft up and 20ft across
    Top speed: 18mph
    Transmission: just like Razer€™s
GC: 0 at the front, 2mm down the side, 4mm at the back end
    Turning Circle: 0cm
Armour: 6mm aluminium and steel alloy
Strengths: Can win with one weapon shot
    Weakness: None
Notes: 4 wheels, the rear two of which are Razer type, so the flipper is always facing its opponent

    MW:
    Hell Fire

    Weight: 50kg
    Dimensions: 120x110x40cm
    Shape: low slung wedge
Weapons: Powerful pneumatic flipping arm that has a plate that runs the width of the front, that can throw 75kg 3 feet or so no problem, and can, flip 100kg, but not too high, and a rear Pussycat style Saw, that spins at 4000rpm, and has carbon tipped teeth to cope with titanium.
    Top Speed: 25mph
Transmission: a pair of Mag C40€™s on 24v NiMH€™s running through a really simple transmission, but a reliable one due to features to keep the chain on.
Amour: 4mm Ali and steel alloy and 2 mm of stainless steel on top
Strengths: Very manoeuvrable and fast, generally very easy to control
    Weakness: Exposed outer wheels
Ground Clearance: 0 at the front, 5cm at the back, varying from 0 to 4.5 at the sides (wedge goes up)
Turning Circle: 0cm (its turning is very nimble)
Notes: Hell Fire is extremely manoeuvrable because it has 2 sets of wheels on the same axle, meaning that it€™s incredibly stable, and can turn on a penny, and can still run even with outer wheels ripped off

    LW:
    Name: Hell Hound
    Weight: 25kg
    Dimensions (LxWxH): 60x50x30cm
Shape: scooped front, rectangular body, rounded back
Weapons: 2 conjoined Pincer type crushing jaws with a small hydraulic ram powering each, producing a 1 and 1/2 tonne crushing force
Colour: mainly black, but with Rotweiler features all over the body
    Speed: 15MPH
Transmission: a pair of Bosch 400€™s on 24v running through a simple 6:1 ratio gearbox
Armour:1mm stainless steel and 4mm Ali/steel alloy (tough enough for LWs)
Srimech: cable pulled legs from out the side (like a dog cocking his leg to do his business) and a cable pulled tail to self right when its on its head
GC: 0 at the scoop, 2mm the rest of the way
    Turning circle: 0cm
    Strengths: Power of weapon
Weakness: slow self righter (still effective mind)
    Notes: New NBSFL LW champ

    FW:
    Name: Hells Angel
    Weight: 12kg
    Dimensions: 59 x 45 x 15 cm
Shape: Scoop front, rectangle body, wedged rear end
Weapons: a car radiator fan motor powered axe, drilled for lightness, but with still a heavy axe head, with a wallop power of about 500kg
Transmission: 2x 12v 3000mA Ni-cads powering Ali protected Challenger drill motors attached directly to the compound rubber wheels (those popular blue wheels you see on many FW), which are studded with screws pointing out (like those on Chaos 2)
    Speed: 12 MPH
GC: 2mm all around, 0 at the scoop end
Srimech: The axe, the weight of which pulls it over so it cannot rest on its side. Make SURE you remember that.
Armour: 6mm ali on the sides, on the top (used to have thick steel plates, but I found out that they were too heavy)
    Strengths: The axe
Weakness: the armour may not stand up to strong FW spinners, but should prove good enough

    AW
    Name: Baby Hell
    Weight: 150g
Shape: scooped front, rectangle body, wedged back end
Drive: Modified 9g NAROTECH servos, like those used in Anty B powered by a 25g NiMh 4.8v cell
Weapon: A modified NAROTECH servo powered axe that can go through CD casing in 1 shot. The axe is powerful enough to self right the robot.
Armour: Pullback Tornado chassis with the scoop on the front.
Wheels: The ones from the Tornado pullback (very grippy), but I use only the rear two because the front space was needed for the axe and battery
    Strength: power of axe
Weakness: strength of armour can cause if to fly acros ring when fighting spinners
Notes: Due to rear wheels, scoop is lower to the floor than regular Tornado Pullback
