Thread: The Spanish Inquisition QT

Name - Back to Rock II

Shape - A box with a slightly sloped front

    Weight - 100 Kilogram

    Speed - 29 km/h (18mph)

    Dimensions - 90x75x30 cm

Ground Clearance - 0 underneath skirts and at the front, 8 mm anywhere else

Power - 2x Etek motors at 48 volt

Movement - Four wheels, 20cm diameter

    Turning Circel - Zero

Weaponry - It has a broad hydraulic lifting arm which can easily lift 200 kg. To easily get underneath an opponent, it has two lifting plates at the bottom of the arm, one on the left end and one on the right end, instead of one large lifting plate like Behemoth.

Between the two plates, in the centre of the scoop, I mounted a vertical diamond edged Pussycat-style blade, powered by a S28-150 Magmotor, spinning upwards at approximately 3000 RPM, which will hopefully rip off some armour, or more likely, a tire, while lifting an opponent. Jamming a blade into an opponent while lifting it hopefully provides as much control over an opponent than a Behemoth-style grabbing claw/axe can, and it€™ll surely do more damage. (To avoid confusion, the blade is actually part of the lifter, so when the lifter moves up, the blade moves along).

On both sides of the bots is a pair of 5 mm titanium skirts, to make sure I won€™t get flipped very often, as hydraulic srimechs just aren€™t as fast as pnuematic ones.

Armour - 6 mm titanium all around

Srimech - The lifter self-rights the robot when needed

Strenghts - Nice weapon synergy, high traction
Weakness - Hydraulic srimech might prove to be slow

Back to Rock looks a little tall, and even if it isnt, Walk Away can be low as hell. So the basic idea is since its more than four times as fast as me, let it charge at me, and get the legs down before he makes it to me and hopefully deal a huge hit aginst the armor. Repeat until it moves so little Im actually faster than it [which might not happen since Walk Away is so slow]and just bash until whats left dies. Only move when I have to. Overall, like any of Walk Aways fights aginst a wedge, it comes down to whos lower, which Im pretty confident is me.

NOTES- according to frank the name is rude, first star shaped robot

Ahh, Martyn, how naive you are.....

Anyways, as for tactics: spin up and make precise hits at the oppertune moment, my weapon should be up to speed before his as it is smaller givign me the advantage, keep the disc pointed at him at all times.

Walk Away vs. Back to Rock II

I guess a machine will be counted out when it doesnt move for a certain period of time?

if so, just drive in, watch how his legs are pulled in, and start driving circles around him like vultures do to their preys, either he will be counted out for not moving, or hell start moving at a certain moment, which is when I (carefully) come in to slam and pin him at the arena wall, keep coming in with the saw from that point.

Even IF (and I say IF) I accidentally drive up his plow, I should be able to drive off, and I think Id win it on a JD because I was way more active
