And off we go. Were close to the final now. Behemoth comes straight for Pussycat, but the cat dodges the huge moth. Raging Knightmare zooms forward, but misses the target completely. Not exactly the best style. To me, it appears as if the three are just sizing each other up, waiting for the best moment to strike...speaking of which, Pussycat hits the front scoop of Behemoth, but Behemoth just flicks it away, and pushes forward, determined to beat the cat. Raging Knightmare comes in, tries to seperate the two, but is turned over by Behemoth. Self-rights quite quickly though, which is handy, especially when against Behemoth. Pussycat nibbles at the side of the bucket scoop, trying to cause some damage. Sparks are flying, quite nicely thank you. Behemoth pushes Pussycat towards Dead Metals CPZ, but the high ground clearance of the cat actually allows him to clamber over Dead Metals claws and away. Lucky kitty. Raging Knightmare comes in from behind and lifts up Behemoth. Pussycat turns and cuts the underbelly of Behemoth! Suddenly, it seems as though the two are ganging up on Behemoth! This cant be fair! Oh, believe me, it isnt, but it is happening, right here, right now. Pussycat is gnawing, again, into the scoop of Behemoth. Behemoth flips it up, but that has allowed Raging Knightmare to get underneath the front...AND FLIP IT ONTO ITS BACK END!! Now what on Earth can Behemoth do? We know it has a srimech and it can self-right when on its side and its top, but what about the back end? It got stranded like this when it lost to Crushtacean in Series 5...and I think its going out again! Raging Knightmare appears to be preventing it from righting! Its tipping, but not going over. Refbot decides to have a look...and he is counting out Behemoth! Thats a shame. I thought theyd win, although third place should be no disapointment for them. Raging Knightmare has already activated the pit. Refbots clock hits 10 and Behemoth is out. All that is left for Dead Metal to do is to cut into Behemoth a few times...then drop it into the pit. Bye bye Behemoth.

    CEASE!

    Behemoth has been annihilated.

    Pussycat vs Raging Knightmare

    See you soon.

    P.S.
For various reasons, I have decided NOT to do the World Championship event. HOWEVER, I do have something just as interesting planned...The WAR OF INDEPENDANCE! Further details are to be kept under wraps for now, but well have some fun once we get there.

And so, the first annihilator final begins. Pussycat charges head-on towards Raging Knightmare. Does it sense a possible weak-link in the chain? Possibly. The blade, however, does not have time to do much effect as Raging Knightmare just flicks it aside, effortlessly. Pussycat does a few bounces, but cant really recover for a while. Eventually, it does, and tries to dodge around the back. The blade hits the armour, but there is very little damage...again, Raging Knightmare flips Pussycat around. Highly effective on a good day, both of these robots. Raging Knightmare now drives into the former annihilator winner and pushes it towards the CPZ...flips it up and INTO Dead Metal. Dead Metal sure does enjoy a bit of chopped cat for breakfast, lunch...not dinner, he prefers steamed scrap then. Anyway, the saw of Dead Metal is cutting into the armour of Pussycat. Effortless to say the least. Eventually, he has to let the cat go. Raging Knightmare continues to pursue the prey item, as Pussycat charges to the other side of the arena...ah, hit the pit release button, try to lure Raging Knightmare towards the pit. But Knightmare is having none of that! Instead, he flips the cat again, this time causing it to bounce off its blade! That cant be nice. And its getting nearer and nearer to that pit! Pussycat, you better be careful! But Pussycat veers out of the way...right past Sir Killalot as well! Pussycat is living life on the edge, and Raging Knightmare is still on the attack. We have seen nothing from that Pussycat blade, as Raging Knightmare flips Pussycat again...now its on its side, and without that blade spinning, it isnt going to escape that easily, Im afraid. Raging Knightmare gives it a shove, another flip...OH, and Pussycat bounces over the pit! Lucky to survive...OH! WHAT WERE THEY DOING? THEY JUST REVERSED RIGHT INTO THE PIT! THAT WAS SUICIDE! Completely disorientated by that flip, Pussycat skins ITSELF alive! Oh dear.

    CEASE!

Raging Knightmare has won the first annihilator. Itll go through to the Mayhem final.

Spawn Again will meet their end first.

Predictions for the War of Independence...

    Kat 3 vs Plunderbird 5

The only way Plunderbird 5 can win is with a cheap pitting. Or if Kat 3 breaks down. Which have both happened before. Otherwise, Kat 3 will just hammer the Plundergirls to hell.

    Razer vs Pussycat

ZOMFG!!!1 TEH RAZER FIGHTS TEH CAT!!!1

Seriously...Razers had some reliability problems against the Cat before, and that may lead to his downfall. If at all he doesnt break down, then Razer will win by a hefty judges decision.

    Stinger vs Spawn Again

Poor Spawn Again just doesnt have the weaponry to tackle Stinger. Especially not an axlebot, as theyre usually hard to flip, and which Stinger is. Stinger to spin around and tear off pieces of Spawn Agains shell, resulting in a K.O. mid-way through the match.

    Tornado vs 259

Hmmmmm...Tornados a sturdy bot, but that disc of 259 is extremely lethal. However, Wild Thing was actually able to stop the disc, so if that happens, then Tornado will walk away easily with this one. Heh, with any luck, Tornado might even be able to invert it.

Computer problems, eh? Thats alright. I can wait. Good to wait for good fights rather than get crappy quick ones. (not a reference =P)

So, for those fans out there, heres the first battle of the WOI, ready and waiting for you.

FROM APPLESTON IN SURREY; KAT 3
This cat has plenty to roar about. A Robot Wars veteran, the team previously competed with a robot called Kater Killer. This bot has been much more successful. Its wedge shape is designed to plow into just about any robot around, and it has an extremely lethal looking axe, which has previously done some very nasty damage. However, the aluminium and polycarbonate armour could be thicker...

FROM ALTON IN HAMPSHIRE; PLUNDERBIRD 5
Get your ear plugs ready, it isnt going to be pretty. Another oldie but certainly no goldie, Plunderbird 5 has competed since War 1 up to War 5, with mixed success. Its long, low, fairly fast at up to 20mph, and its main weapons are fear, surprise and brute force...and, if they need it, a nasty looking Plunderthocker, just in case youre sleeping. And if all that doesnt work, then theres always the teams classic (i.e. Ear-splitting) rock ballards to listen to. Their speed is the advantage, but Plunderbird has always suffered from reliability problems, which may hit them again here.

    ROBOTEERS, STAND BY.

    Booth 1: Kat 3
    Booth 2: Plunderbird 5
House Robots: Dead Metal, Mr Psycho.

    3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

And off we go for the British robots in the War of Independence. The winner of this will go through to fight the winner of the American section of course. Straight away, Kat 3 gets underneath Plunderbird 5 quite easily. The axe comes down and meets the polycarbonate armour which makes up the Plundershell. Plunderbird 5 falls off the wedge of Kat 3 though, and comes in on a side charge. This throws the Kat off guard for a moment or so, and allows Plunderbird to push Kat 3 back a bit. However, Kat 3 does get away, quite easily. It turns around again, trying to lure Plunderbird towards the axe. Plunderbird has nothing else to do, and does charge, which results in another hole in the shell, thanks to Kat 3s axe. Plunderbird ideally needs to disable that axe, because, at the moment, they are behind. Kat 3 drives back towards Plunderbird as they try to retreat. They cant retreat forever though, the arena wall is getting closer...and Kat 3 gives them a mighty SLAM into the arena wall, lifting one side up! The grinders tear into Plunderbirds side. Kat 3 brings the axe down again. At last, it gets bored and lets Plunderbird go, who charges off...straight into Dead Metals CPZ! This doesnt look good for the Plunderbird team! Theyre trying to escape, but Kat 3 is blocking the exits, and now Dead Metal has a claw onto the Plunderbird robot! The saw blade comes down onto the robot, cutting through something...that didnt look too promising! Is that what I think it was? The thing that eliminated them from the second series? The ariel being cut off? I think so! And that will now seriously hinder transmission to Plunderbird...and it certainly isnt moving freely! Kat 3 decides to hit the pit release button. Poor Plunderbird can not get out of that CPZ. I think Mr Psycho wants a piece of the action. Down comes the hammer on Plunderbird. Refbot finally decides to come in...and counts out Plunderbird. Kat 3 spins in celebration. Once Refbot hits 10, Mr Psycho picks up Plunderbird, simply turns around and dumps it in the pit. It certainly didnt fly very well, but it definately DID plummet!

    CEASE!

    Plunderbird 5...plucked.
KAT 3 GOES THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND.

Next up, we...hang on. Is that what I thi...OMG, THE PLUNDERBIRD BOYS ARE IN THE ARENA...THEY HAVE THEIR MICROPHONES!!! GOTTA GO!! AGGGHH!!!!

    FROM WORCHESTER; PUSSYCAT
...But I must warn you, hes anything but cuddly! This interesting pyramid shaped robot is one of the oldest robots around, and still fairly successful. Its weapon is a double edged eight toothed blade capable of some very nasty damage. And if that wasnt enough, the position of its wheels allow it to run any way up, hence its name. All in all, a very strong contender, but its wheels are exposed and the ground clearance is too high.

    FROM BOURNEMOUTH IN DORSET; RAZER
A UK championship, two world championship, an annihilator, two All Star championships, the International League...quite simply, you name it, Razer has probably won it. One of the most famous robots in the world, Razer is a wedge shaped robot with one of the most feared weapons off all...a gigantic crushing hydraulic ram, that can make a hole in almost anything it gets the tip into. The claw also boosts 450 weight reducing holes and two wings which act as a srimech, so Razer is prepared for anything. It once went over 20 battles without losing as well, more than any other UK robot. Sadly, Razer is famed for being unreliable, and something is bound to happen sooner or later.

    ROBOTEERS, STAND BY!

    Booth 1: Razer
    Booth 2: Pussycat
House Robots: Dead Metal, Sir Killalot

    3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!

This is a grudge match! The two have fought each other twice before, and Pussycat was the victor in BOTH of them, once actually KOing Razer, the only robot to do so without the former world and UK champion breaking down. But anyway, Pussycat charges right at the claw of Razer, perhaps trying to cut loose the hydraulics. Razer starts to bring the claw down, but Pussycat veers out of the way. Good control is vital for taking on Razer. Anyway, Pussycat turns away and runs, Razer gives chase. Pussycat is a kilo heavier, but much faster. It turns again, perhaps trying to get a side slice on the wheels, which are vulnerable to a cutting blade. However, Razer sensed that, apparantly...and sticks the crushing ram right into Pussycat! Suddenly, Pussycat is in trouble! Is this third time lucky for Razer? It certainly seems to have made a nasty big hole in Pussycats body! Now Razer carries Pussycat towards Dead Metals CPZ! A little bit of cutting on Pussycats body...but as the saw comes down, Pussycat is knocked free from Razers claw! Razer will not thank Pussycat for that! Anyway, Pussycat begins the charge, but to where? Ah, I see, the pit release button! The pit starts to open. Maybe Pussycat thinks it can lure Razer in. I can tell you now that it wont work! Razer isnt stupid, you know. But Pussycat knows this, and charges AT Razer again, this time the blade hitting the front scoop of Razer. Razer tries to grab at the area of Pussycat where the blade is, perhaps trying to tear it off! Pussycat gets away, but not without a scratch. Now the two try to get a side on attack, where there are no weapons. Who will hit the target first...ITS PUSSYCAT! He hit the side of Razer with a mighty crash and zap as something flew off. Can the replay show what it was? Yes...its one of Razers rollers on the wheels, which allow for side skidding. That may cause an effect on what Razer can do. Pussycat backs up and charges forward again, Razer tries to get into action. However, instead of going left to try and grab Pussycat again, it goes right...and Pussycat hits the back end...right where the wheel is! This doesnt look good at all for Razer! Is it moving...NO IT ISNT! The wheels are spinning, but its going absoulutly nowhere. Pussycat gives it a prod...but doesnt come in any further. In the past, Pussycat has continued to attack Razer even after it became immobilised, but this time, it seems to know that Razer is out of the running. Razer is still trying to move, but it isnt working. Refbot comes in to count it out. The house robots look on. Refbot counts it out...and the house robots start piling in on Razer! Call it an act of revenge for all the previous attacks. Dead Metal grabs Razer and cuts into the wing with his saw a few times. The house robots have never really had a chance to attack Razer like this, they dont want to waste this oppurtunity. Eventually, Killalot picks up Razer and takes it...ah, onto the floor flipper! This should be interesting. The wheels are no longer spinning on Razer...AND THERE IT GOES!! The former world and UK champion flies through the air and crashes down with several bounces. It didnt really fly that well for something with wings. It bounces well though. And even after all that, it still has the cheek to raise the claw and self-right itself. Now its right next to the pit and slowly, but surely, Pussycat shoves it to the pit area...and dumps it in. It wasnt third time lucky this time for Razer.

    CEASE!

    Razer has been blunted.
    PUSSYCAT GOES THROUGH...AGAIN!

    Predictions: 2 for 2

    Awesome fights, sir Mason!

  10. #120
FROM EAST TILBURY IN ESSEX; SPAWN AGAIN
No robot is faster than Spawn Again, even if they wanted to. This high wedge shape robot doesnt take any competitors lying down, it has a massive flipper that not only flips long, but high. In fact, it could probably go down as one of the largest flippers in the competition. It has a high success rate as well, being a semi finalist on four occasions. However, Spawn Again is well known for its reliability problems, so it may not be long until it dies...again.

    FROM LINCON; STINGER
A grand finalist in the fourth series of Robot Wars, Stinger remains one of the most original robots around. This robot is essentially two giant wheels with a very large, VERY dangerous arm, tipped witha nasty bludgeioning spike. It can act as a mace, a spike, an axe, whatever it wants to be, all swinging down at maximum damage. All the electronics, motors ext are mounted in the giant wheels. Nevertheless, said wheels are very vulnerable.

    Booth 1: Spawn Again
    Booth 2: Stinger
House Robots: Sir Killalot, Mr Psycho

    3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

And the third round of the War of Independence UK tournament is off and underway. Stinger charges at Spawn Again, but meerly bounces off, just as Spawn Again fires its flipper. Wasted flip from the Spawn Again boys. Stinger starts spinning, as we know it will, crazily. Spawn Again appears to be reluctant to approach. I dont blame it. I dont like the armour protecting on Spawn Again, it looks lightweight. Itll have to come in sooner or later though. It does so...OH, DEFLECTION! Good deflection by Stinger, causing a slight scratch on Spawn Agains armour. However, it has also stopped Stinger from spinning. Spawn Again quickly comes charging in...it may not get another chance...and flips Stinger! But how do you flip a robot like Stinger successfully? You cant! Its all wheels. Stinger surges forward...or is it backwards?...and runs right over the top of Spawn Again! Spawn Again hits the pit release button. After all, Stinger does have bad control. Spawn Again continues to give chase after the Stinger machine. Stinger stops, surges forward, stops again, slams that huge mace like device onto the flipper of Spawn Again. Stinger is certainly causing the most damage at the moment...but Stinger, in reversing, has suddenly got its huge spike caught underneath a grinder! This doesnt look promising! I feared all along the control may be a problem! In comes Spawn Again, underneath Stinger. Freeing it from the arena grinder...BUT FLIPPING IT OUT OF THE ARENA!! Out goes Stinger! Who expected that? Stinger, totally in command, are out of the War of Independence!

    CEASE

    Stinger has been...well, stung!
    SPAWN AGAIN GOES THROUGH!

    And finally...

    FROM ESSEX; 259
Its only a little, three digit number, but WHAT a robot it makes! 259 is next to awesome in combat! This robots body isnt that big, just a small, low box with four wheels and skirts all the way around. However, the weapon...the vertical flywheel...is MASSIVE! And it works! Armour and weapons can be torn effortlessly off oppodents just by touching it. Again, however, the robot is not exactly reliable, and can, will and has, often self-destructed on oppodents.

    FROM SAWTRY IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE; TORNADO
The winners of Series 6, Tornado has beaten almost every single All Star robot there is, including Chaos 2, Pussycat, Hypno-Disc and Razer. Another low, flat box on wheels, Tornado is invertible and doesnt care about being flipped at all. It also has incredible pushing power, and can push pretty much anything. Worst of all, it has an interchangable weapons section at the front, where they can put on a spinning flywheel, a wedge with flail and a lifting arm. All in all, a tough cookie...until it meets someone with similar pushing power, when at that point, all of the hard work is undone.

    ROBOTEERS, STAND BY...

Booth 1: Tornado (using the scoop and chain flail)
    Booth 2: 259
    House Robots: Matilda, Sir Killalot

    3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!
Two incredibles, if you ask me. The massive flywheel of 259 against the humungous pushibility of Tornado. Who comes out on top? Well, at the moment, the aggresser is Tornado, who has already dodged the front blade and comes in on an angle, missing the disc and getting in underneath the side skirts! Dont forget, 259 has the habit of self-destructing, and if Tornado can get to the belt driving their disc, or even better, the chain driving their wheels, it could be all over! Tornado SLAMS 259 into the arena wall! The three numbered machine bounces off the wall, upright (thankfully). Is the disc still spi...yes it is! Again, a relief for Adam Clark, the captain, and indeed the entire team of 259. 259 turns back onto the attack! It needs to get a good hit on Tornado...AND DOES SO! Tornados front end is flung upwards! Tornado lands apparantly seriously unharmed and tries to attack from the side again, but 259 beats him to it AND LANDS ANOTHER STUNNING HIT!! Tornado ends up doing a HEADSTAND!! Again, it crashes down again! 259 pauses, then HITS IT AGAIN! Similar result, but not as spectacular. Tornado lands again, 259 pauses...and pauses...and pauses...is there something wrong with 259? It isnt moving...but come to think of it, neither is Tornado! Has that bashing immobilised BOTH of them? It appears so! Refbot is coming in to see if he can nudge a bit of life back into the beaten machines...but no, he is counting BOTH of them down! Thats a surprise!

    CEASE!

Well, what a surprise. Both robots knocked out, so the judges will have to see who was immobilised first...
