Anyway, from Leiderdorp in the Netherlands:

Cosmic Thunder 2

Robot Concept - Low wedge leading up to a flipper
Mass - 100 kg
Weapons - A really nice flipper.
Can it self-right - Yes
Velocity - 16 mph
Turning Circle - 0
Ground clearance - 0 at the front, 0.5 mm at the sides, 0 at the back
Skirts - Side and back skirts
Wheel Type - 6 inch wheels
Motors - Two magmotors geared for torque
Body Shape - Reshaped like Voltronic
Armour - 6 mm Titanium skirts, 9 mm Lexan on the front.
Colour - Spacey

Summary - Well flip you then some?
Strengths - Its extremely low to the ground coupled with a flipper. Also can run upside down if the flipper cops out.
Weaknesses - Its armor isnt all that good.

Summary - Pushers = coolio
Strengths - Extremely low to the ground, very fast. Somewhat nice armor too.
Weaknesses - If it gets flipped, its not as effective.

1) How does your walking robot reach 26mph?
2) Is there such thing as bullet proof titanium?
3) How does the walking mechanism work inverted?
4) What powers the weapons and drive?

Am I right in thinking I have a space reserved in this, Martyn? If not save me one please, Im going to try and design a new vapour for this tournament.

No, I havent seen the stats. Perhaps Plasma Nitride Coated Titanium is what youre looking for?

Manic Monsoon will represetn Wales

Name: Manic Monsoon
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 5mm Hardox all over.
Speed: Roughly 28mph
Shape: Box wedge with side skirts and rounded back.
Weapon 1: A linear actuator powered lifter running by a 4 bar system at 24v. This can lift 200kg easily.
Weapon 2: A small strip of Grade 5 Titanium on the front wedge, which gives 0mm ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful drive and good strong weapon
Weaknesses: A bit too fast and hard to control when at full speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on front and sides, 1cm at back.
Srimech: Invertible, but can self right using the lifter if wanted to.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 B42-500 MagMotors running at 60v. This gives Monsoon approx 60HP! The robot has a total of 6 wheels, 3 on each side. Each side is linked together by a set of heavy duty belts, giving 0m turning circle and the manoeuvrability of a 2 wheeled bot, and each wheel is coated in Vulcalon. The front wedge is angled at 42.5 degrees, meaning that it is not too steep or too shallow. The lifting arm is powered by a S28-150 MagMotor, and is made from 7075 Aluminium. The lifter itself can lift a total of 200kg, and can self right the robot if needs be. The side skirts are made from 4mm Titanium and are hinged.


Pure Evil: Revenge Of The Disc will represent Portugal

Name: Pure Evil: Revenge of the Disc
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 4mm Titanium ring spinner and 4mm Titanium flipper/wedge.
Speed: 8mph
Shape: It is a ring spinner with a front wedge.
Weapon 1: The main body is a ring spinner made from 4mm Titanium, with Titanium teeth all over it. It is powered by a C40-400 Magmotor running at 36v and geared down 2:1. This means the body can reach a top speed of 3888RPM. The disc weighs a total of 40kg and can dish out 174kJ of energy per hit.
Weapon 2: A spinning kinetic powered flipper, based on Team Whyachi€™s €œWarrior SKF€. It uses the kinetic energy from the disc to power the flipper, meaning it can flip with a total of 58KJ of energy.
Strengths: Unique and powerful weaponry. Good control.
Weaknesses: Takes a long time to self right due to the disc needing to spin up successfully.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front and sides of flipper, 5mm at back due to ring spinner.
Srimech: The flipper can successfully self right the robot.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 800w 36v DC motors giving 8mph top speeds. The wheels are made from Vulcalon, and have screws embedded in them to help gain traction on the arena floor. The ring spinner is powered by a C40-400 Magmotor geared down 2:1. This means the body can reach a top speed of 3888RPM. There are 15 1€ cubed Titanium teeth all over the horizontal spinner, giving it 174KJ of energy on impact when used as a spinner. The flipper works because there is an eccentric land on top of the spinning ring. The top link connected to the flipper plate has a groove in it, when fired the top link engages with the spinner land and pulls backward flipping the plate up. At the front of the flipper there is a 4mm Titanium €œnose€ with a sharpened edge designed to get under all skirts and ground clearances. When the spinner is spinning at full speed, the flipper flips with 58kJ of energy. All the electrics are kept within the 50cm diameter of the ring spinner.

easy ive got smaller drives in simpson. ok Im gonna change the spears into legs which stick out in the top hence making it be invertable. If drillzilla can do it how come us british cant
