I think someone needs a chat with my friend Hewlit, possibly soemone who could buckle his wheels out fo shape for persuasion purposes. The rest should go back to HQ and see what we can dig up, I want to do soem training there once I get there as Im pretty low down at this moment.

With our combined speed and strength, Stomper and I can help take the bikers to HQ before maybe taking a trip to Aces.

Just tell us which ones you want to question and well just take them back last

    Woo, hundredth post

    Misty€™s garage

Mephistopheles and Stomper talk briefly about going to see Jerry Hewlit, but decide against it. Mephistopheles then decides to go back to Guardian H.Q to do some training, leaving the other five to deal with the bikers.

While the other four interrogate the bikers some more, Stomper opens the briefcase. Inside is a lot of money, presumably the biker€™s payment for the night crystals. He closes it again.

Meanwhile, the others aren€™t having much luck with the bikers, as they refuse to say anything. Psy even tries flirting with them, but this has about as much effect as trying to put out a fire with a flame thrower.

While doing all this, they don€™t notice the leader disappearing along with his bonds, leaving only a faint shadow on the ground. The other bikers do, and exchange side-long glances as the Guardians decide what to do next. Eventually, they decide to just take the bikers to the police and let them sort it out.

As they then discuss the problems involved with five people moving eleven bikers that don€™t want to be moved, Marathon notices that where the leader was is now just a belt, as undetected he has freed himself from his make-shift bindings. They search for him, but as they do so, he is freeing his gang. The Guardians notice what€™s going on at last and rush to stop them, but to no avail. As they fight with the few who are free, the others struggle free and join in the fray. Marathon and Funkie Junkie are punched to the ground, and while Psy is able to stop them for a while with her powers, she is unable to detect someone creeping up behind her while she is occupied, and she is ambushed by the invisible leader and knocked unconscious. Blur and Stomper put up more of a fight, but are mobbed and beaten unconscious also. The bikers saddle up on their bikes, with the now bike-less one riding with a mate, grab the briefcase and ride off. All that€™s left is a burnt out motorcycle, three Guardians out cold and two who are just groggily getting to their feet.
€œI think,€ Marathon grunts €œThat in reflection it would have been easier to take the police to the bikers rather than the other way around.€
Funkie Junkie ruefully agrees. The others don€™t stay unconscious for long, and are up, if not fully with it, in a few minutes.

    Guardian H.Q

Mephistopheles arrives, unaware of what€™s happened, and does some training.

    Mephistopheles€™ proficiency up by 4.

The others then arrive and tell him what happened in his absence. It seems the only thing you can do is to go to the police station and tell them what happened.

    Police station

On the way to the station, Funkie Junkie gloomily predicts just what O€™Hara is going to do to you. Testicles and blunt spoons figure largely in this. It is therefore something of a relief that instead of O€™Hara, the Chief Inspector himself wants to see you.

    €œYou look like you€™ve been in the wars,€ he comments. €œWhat€™s happened?€
The Guardians had never actually seen someone so in despair that they hold their head in their hands, but that€™s exactly what Lambert is doing by the time you€™ve finished. He€™s not exactly sobbing, but it seems this is an option.

€œSo let me get this straight,€ he growls when you€™re finished. €œYou had a lead, failed to tell us about it, tried to take in a gang of eleven men restrained with nothing but their own belts without transport. During the brief time you had the situation under control, you€ he says this rounding on Stomper €œYou had the bright idea of opening the briefcase which would have made forensics on the thing a nightmare, thus muddying the one piece of evidence we had barring a piece of CCTV footage which would have given us a case against one of them, possibly giving us the others on conspiracy and association. Feel free to interrupt if there€™s something I€™ve missed!€
The only reply is an awkward silence. Eventually Lambert sighs, and continues.
€œThere€™s going to be a Gifted meet in three days. You might want to show your faces there, so try and find out about it. And if you see any crimes happening try not to let all the evidence and criminals vanish!€

For failing to catch the Shadows and potentially wrecking the legal case against them, you lose 10 public opinion points.
