darn, I dont wanna be destroyed by the Tempest in my first vapour-fight since ages :sad:

k, tactis, be VERY careful of the Tempest, go for Napalm and try to flip him at the Tempest, thatll both hurt Napalm and keep me save from the Tempest (well, if I succeed), then go for Storm2 and flip him OOTA or in the pit (Id rather have an OOTA though, being near the pit isnt very save while facing Storm2)

Hey!

Back in the country and staying at family friends for the night before getting home tomorrow. With any luck, I can start fights this weekend.

However, with the absence of certain stats (THEY know who I mean...), Ive made an executive decision. If peoples missing HW stats arent entered before their fights, Ill just use their PTT4 line-ups and any missing sideshow bots will be replaced with realies.

Soz, but gotta get this thing going, dont I?

With its unrivaled temper even shorter after its performance last season, Agro returns to vent a little fury over its loss - and what better place to do it than right here? A invertible wedge as ever, Richie has ditched the Tetanus Booster drum since last we met and instead bulked up the rear vertical spinning disc. Modelled on X-Terminators, this little beauty weights about 10kg and can reach speeds of 3000rpm in next to no time. Not only that, but the armour has been upgraded from titanium to Hardox and the low hinged plate on the front will happily plow under many an opponent. Unfortunately, the two inner wheels still dont offer much pushing power and the 17mph top speeds will make control particularly agrovating.

Officially the most famous pole since Pope John Paul (how long before you work that out?

), Dervish is back in its sixth incarnation to slice up its previous PTT record and replicate its recent success in VFT6. Still a lethal Barberous lookalike, this massive spinny drum on wheels is (if possible) deadlier than ever, thanks to the 2 x 36v LEM-130s now powering the blades. This ensures speeds of 2500rpm and a lot more than a short-back-and-sides if you bump into the carbon and titanium claws. Combined with the 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbide and 5mm Lexigard protecting it, version // is one hell of a tough nut to crack and the 14mph speeds dont make it any easier. However, the Stinger-esque wheels are dangerously exposed to attacks on all sides and iffy traction is the price to pay if that drum ends up stopping. Will Dervish prove a cut above the rest once more or simply be cut down to size?

From the mists of time, now, comes a horrifying prehistoric monster that leaves devestation wherever it chooses to roam...and his robot.

Getting back to the subject at hand, Die-Ceratops ReInvertus (as it has been dubbed by archeologists) is a deadly dino through and through. Very much similar to Wheely Big Cheese, its long low wedged body is accompanied by an enormous rear-hinged flipper, more than capable of chucking up to a tonne at a time back to the Stone Age! Along with this, the invertible body and side-bars means that other flippers will have much less fun with it and the 8mm titanium skin will give even raptors a hard time getting through. But despite this, the two wheels again dont provide much push and and if an axe or a crusher gets hold of those semi-exposed wheels, Die-Ceratops ReInvertus will...erm...die.

Hey, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Returning completely unchanged from last time, Scottishly Fictional is back to repeat its whirlwind success last time around and retain the title. Its a feat as yet to be achieved by anyone, but this Stormalike has to be a pretty safe bet. Still the trusty invertible box wedge we know and love, the champ also brings back its interchangeable 20mm titanium scoop/5kg vertical spinning drum in the front. Add the 2 x LEM-130s providing the juice at 36v and you can see just how this humble clone became the king. The 18hp fed to the six wheels is enough to shove nearly everyone aside and speeds of 20mph mean that those shoves come hard and fast indeed. However, being inverted will render the front wedge all but useless and while the titanium armour itself is tough enough at up to 12mm thick, the sellotape wheels could take some nasty blows if an axe gets its aim right. Plus, the St Andrews Cross splattered all over it may anger some of the other competitors...

PTT5 STARTETH!

And everyone seems off to a nippy start today. First into the fray is Agro 3.5, who dashes right across the arena and bashes into the side of Die-Ceratops ReInvertus! Giving Chris no time to respond, the PTT4 veteran slips its front hinged plate under the 3mm ground clearance and gives it a solid thwack into the nearest wall! Richie backs off for another shunt...when Dervish comes whirling into view and tries to slice through Agros Hardox shell! Thankfully, it does little more than bounce the wedge aside, but in doing so, its allowed Die-Ceratops out for an attack! Quick as a raptor, the sleek slope powers under Dervish and launches it skyward in one effortless throw! And as the two-time PTT competitor crashes back to earth, wheres the champ in all this? Opening the Void, what else? Crashing into the oversized button, Scottishly Fictional sets off the siren and comes charging backwards down the ring to join the others! In the meantime, not much has happened. Dervish has put a few tears into Die-Ceratops side as an act of vengeance, while Agro darts about trying to find an opening. Unfortunately, as soon as Richie manages to clip ReInvertus side with the disc, Scottishly Fictional rockets over and crashes head-on into the fray! All three competitors end up twirling away, as the champ quickly tries to decide who to pick on. To Chris and Dans relief, the chosen one is Agro and Mr Southworth barely has time to blink before the No.1 seed slams his machine into the side wall! While Die-Ceratops and Dervish go back to their little scrap, Scott backs off for the next pounding...but as he comes in again, Agro sharply turns around and gives the champ a faceful of flywheel! Sparks fly as disc hit drum, but thankfully, neither seems really the worse for wear after that attack. However, Mr Anderson is now pretty peeved and gives the fellow veteran a nice big shunt for its troubles! But thats not all Rich should add to his list of woes! Just as he turns to get the disc back in action, Scottishly Fictional scrapes underneath Agros sides and effortlessly pushes the PTT4 competitor into Michael Pliers bottom corner! Displeased to see visitors, the Halloween House Robot gives Richies machine a distainful nudge before bringing the hatchet down on its head! Lucklily, the hammer misses a second time and Agro is able to slip away, though not without Scottys botty hot on its heels! With a fancy twirl, Mr Southworth attempts to get round to the champs side, but in an instant, the No.1 seed charges into it...and begins shoving it towards the Void! Panic rising, Richard wiggles all controls frantically, but in the blink of an eye, its over. One millisecond, Agros being pushed across the ring. The next, hes down the infamous hole in a puff of smoke.
Agro 3.5 finally calms down! Quite an anger management class that was, eh?
Meanwhile, Die-Ceratops and Dervish have been at loggerheads in the arena centre. Chris has tried and failed several times to replicate its first flip, while Dan has had equally less success slicing through to ReInvertus innards. Although, all the scratches and cuts seem to show us that Dervish is on top of things for the moment - at least until the champ rockets into view and bashes the Barberous lookalike to one side! Seizing the oppertunity, Die-Ceratops glides underneath its rival and fires its looong flipper arm. With a mighty woosh!, the PTT3 n 4 veteran once more flies into the air before landing noisily in the bottom half of the Warzone. Not wanting a second wasted, Danny quickly starts revving up the drum again - but suddenly, ReInvertus darts onto the scene (escaping the king with but a glancing blow) and scrapes under the veterans 7mm clearance! The blades halt...DAns bot gets shoved back a little...the great flipper shoots wide open...and the vapourboteering worlds Barberous soars over the fence and out of its third PTT!

Dervish // has its hopes shredded! Dont feel too bad, though - I hear the salon down the roads hiring.

Anchor yourselves to the floor while you can, lads - Gravitys back in town! As a Dutch Heat Finalist, a UK Semi-Finalist and quite possibly the most terrifying tossing device of the last few years, the Holland hurler returns for a second PTT to add even more to its nasty reputation. Here in its RW7 form, this sleek wedges flipper is rear-hinged and packs more than a punch. This thing has OOTAed the best within seconds, broken arena walls and even overthrown the British House Robots - literally! Thank the full-pressure CO2 buffer tanks for that, folks. Combined with Mr Dijkstras fanciful driving and this nimble launchpad is a danger to all who even look at it! But it all comes at a price - namely average armour and a rather dangerous ground clearance fellow flippers could easily exploit. After such a high life, is it time for Gravity to come back down to earth?

Probably the oldest robot ever to compete in the PTT, Napalm arrives from RW2 courtesy of the official PTT T.A.R.D.I.S. and is ready to get old-school on everyones ass!

A bizarrely-constructed box with a snowplow front, this former Semi-Finalist may look like a piece of junk, but you tell that to it after its had its way with ye! The weaponry here is a rarity these days - a rear chainsaw, joined by a set of twin connected axes (the infamous mandables). While maybe not the most dangerous arsenal around, it certainly does its job. I mean, when has Napalm ever failed to hop the first hurdle? Also, our old friend is surprisingly nimble with top speeds of 15mph and the two large wheels should offer some decent manoueverability. However, the armour is well known for its flimsyness and at only 84.1kg, itll be very easy for the others to push it around. Will Napalm once again crash and burn?

FROM IPSWICH, STORM 2!

RW New Blood Champ, RW7 runner-up, RW World Champion. It would appear that Storm 2s got it made. Well, not here, its not. Having lost to two super-spinners in both its previous title attempts, the British Biohazard is determined to have as a good a run in this PTT as it has everywhere else and its got every chance of doing so. Although it does have the lifting arm similar to its US counterpart, this skirted box-wedges main weapon is (of course) its pushing power. Provided by 2 x LEM-130s at 36v, the 18hp generated is more than enough to outpush most in its path. All this, invertibility and armour few can even scratch. Where can there possibly be any problems? Well, the invertibility leaves the six wheels open to axefire and one flip will make the front wedge utterly useless. Still, this could very well be Storms year at last. At least Ed and Alex hope so...

And so the pinball wizard bounces back into action.

Still the AJWars champion and more recently the FAR8 Stars-All champ, Tempest returns even eviler than before to add one more trophy to its cabinet. The basic principle is still the same - a low disc on two wheels with a horrible spinny shell - but now, the hooked teeth are interchangeable. You lucky people can suffer at the hands of either 2cm, 6cm, 15.5cm or 25cm long blades, depending on what mood Frankys in (Get your chocolates and roses while you can, lads!) and not only that, but the classic bounce-away-from-your-enemies-after-you-clobber-them ability remains as effective as ever. The titanium and aluminium shell will take a fair few knocks, too, and dont even think about flipping it - invertible. However, controlling such a design at 15mph will take a lot of hard work and yet again, the wheels are vulnerable to overhead attack. Thats if Tempest hasnt blown them away by then, though.

ACTIVATE!!!!!!!!!!

Again, each gets off to a nice fast start. As the quickest of the lot, Storm 2 springs into action first, making straight for Napalm! However, the RW2 contender is a lot more nimble than most people remember and Dave Crosby manages to swerve his creation out of harms way! Or does he? While Storm repositions itself, Gravity decides to have a go at Napalm too and scrapes under the rickety robots front plow. With a bit of luck, though, Dave manages to reverse off the arm, just in time for his machine to get a faceful of gas from the flipper! Distracted by this, he and Tom fail to notice Storm charging at the rear until too late! With a clatter, some of the innards can be heard jiggling a little inside. Powering further underneath, Ed aims for the bottom arena disc and hurtles Napalm straight towards it! Tom tries to fight back, but the mandables just lack their old bite (*groans*). In a shower of sparks, the RW2 competitor finally collides, a mighty slice right along the front plow! But thats the least of its worries! Having spent the fight thus far quietly revving up, Tempest Evil-er-oution finally heads over and sinks its hooked claws into Napalms rear! In a fresh spark burst, the No.32 seed bounces away! Looks like Dave and Tom have lost their chainsaw as a result! Thatll be a nice trophy for Mr Staines the janitor afterwards...ah, but enough about the staff! Something of mild interest is happening!

While turning around, our guest from RW2 has taken another little shunt from Gravity and gone right up the wedge! This time, theres no escape, as Martijn fires the arm...and tosses Napalm onto its back with the greatest of ease! While Storm dashes away to open up the Pit (to end its suffering?), the Grim Beeper makes his way over to the inverted ancient and raises his sythe on high. But before he can do anything, Tempest hits the scene and smashes into Napalms side! Once again, the No.32 seed rebounds away and the real robot is off like a spinning top, one or two large parts of the side-grating now hanging off! The Grim Beeper comes in closer...but Tempest barges in again and slices the other side! Bouncing away goes the twice PTT competitor and leaves Napalm even worse than before! Not wanting to be undermined, the Beeper knocks our 32nd seed aside (back for a third smashing) and finally gets the chance to countdown! Altogether now...
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!!!!!!!!!!
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning! It smells like...urgh, it aint victory, but it sure smells bad!
His job done, the Grim Beeper slinks back to the sidelines and allows Tempest to continue kicking Napalm while its down. But Dave and Tom dont mind much, as theyre already on their way to the backstage pub. At any rate, Storm and Gravity have been duking it out in the meantime and a rather one-sided affair it has been. For all its power, the Dutch machine is having a hard time penetrating its rivals skirts, whereas Storm has wasted no time in introducing its foreign friend to as many of the arena walls as possible! At this point, Gravity has just escaped a fresh ramming spree and heading down to tackle Tempest (who has now stripped Napalm of an entire chuck of side-grating!). Unfortunately, as the seed bounces back, it smacks the Dutch bot head-on and sends the RW7 Semi-Finalist into a right whirl! But no sooner does Frank back off to rev up a bit more than Storm careers into the fray! With no trouble at all, the front wedge easily slips under Gravity and slams it back into the re-revolving Tempest! With a few more sparks, all concerned end up bouncing away from each other, though our Dutch competitor seems a little shaky in recovery. Nevertheless, its still going...but WJ barely has time to do anything when Tempest darts back over and smacks the flippers right-hand side at full blast! Gravity twirls a little before setting off...at least, before trying to set off. That last blow seems to have killed the right drive motor - a fourth punch from our 32nd seed confirms this! Gazing down at the devestation hes caused, Goachers gouger twirls in triumph...just as Storm smashes it down the ring and the Grim Beeper heads back over! To think he wanted to be a dentist...
