TACTICS:
Hmm, Typhoon 2 will be an interesting machine to battle, I do believe I can attack it with the axe, hopefully damaging the FBS, and hopefully stopping the spin. If I can do so, I can easily push it around, and no matter what I do, try and get it down the pit as quickly as possible.

My first proper Knockout Tactics of the war

M.O.A.B.I.E. (3) VS Push-ish Fundamental

(MOABIE - MO
Push-ish - PF)

Speed - 8/20 mph for PF, 15 for MO.
Drive - ~13 horsepower for PF, 63!! horsepower for MO (400 * 59.2 * 2 / 750)
Wheels - 2 large rollers on shared axle for PF, 4 standard pushy wheels on MO.

Right, I have been practising driving a 2 wheel drive shared axle off-road thingie, and it is takes some time to learn how to turn with low effect.

I believe I have the lower front end, but if we meet head on, it will be funny to see, because if I go up, I still have both wheels planted on the ground due to the rear wedge thingie, but if I get under MO, I will lift its front wheels off the ground, and reduce traction. In a torque vs. torque match, I have a feeling that due to my wheels and low gearing I could outpush it, but lets not try to get into a position like that.

My main aim for the match will be, using my extra speed, get around the sides of MO, with no skirts said in the stats, I should get under. Once under, push on, getting under some more, lift the front wedge up, and take directly towards pit release to dump it into the pit.

Okay, lets crunch some numbers.....

PF has roughly 465mm diameter wheel, megaly big.... It needs this size of wheel to do 8MPH with 48:1 gearing with a LEM130 @48v. Also, to achieve 20mph, it will be geared 19.5:1. Going by the EDT Simulator, PF has the following specs:

Low Gear: 8MPH
1380Nm Torque @ Axle
5960N Stall Torque
Max. Tractive Force 392N @ 28.5 Amps

High Gear: 20MPH
563Nm Torque @ Axle
2420N Stall Torque
Max. Tractive Force 392N @ 70 Amps

MOABIE on the other hand, has a specs going a lot higher in its favour:

Low Gear: 15MPH
1450Nm @ Axle
13500N Stall Torque
Max. Tractive Force 785N @ 86.7Amps

To summarise it up in simple, MOABIEs got enough torque and traction to push PF around with only two wheels on the floor.

Now, enough maths. My tactics are basic. My acceleration and control will be my greatest weapon. PFs acceleration is poor, Ill just dart around his sides and push my way under. Ill use the actuated fron end to apply more weight onto the arena floor by lifting the front wheels up just a fraction when Im ready to push.

Once under, ram straight into the wall, stack him against the wall and pin him there for the legal amount of time, knocking him off the wall and pushing him into another wall, stacking him and then pinning him again. The pinning tactic will hopefully gain me points with the judges in tactics, agression and control. If the pit comes into play, Ill put him down it first and take no chances!

Its only a game aaron, no need to bring out all the techinal bits.

Im faster and have better acceleration. Aaron claims to have a front wedge, but he doesnt state a ground clearance, so the wedge doesnt touch the ground. Neither do the wheels because it has 6mm Hardox Armour All round

...Ok Im being picky, so I will stop.

Tactics

Wear the skirts which should prevent Moab getting underneath cos it doesnt state in the stats that the wedge is zero ground clearance, so if its not in the stats, then its not on the robot.

At the start, using my better speed and acceleration, dart around sides, get under, lift, open pit, dump in pit, (drive in pit)

...nothing fancy, just basic tactics for a simple bot.
