    Forget the IBC and the Vantec. Heres a speedo which should suit anything from 12-50kg!

    Hi All,

    After nearly two years of development Robot Power is proud to announce the general availability of our newest motor control...

    Sidewinder

    Here are some of the specs on this exciting new controller:

    * Dual channel 80A continuous each
    * 150A+ peak each channel
    * 14V to 50V voltage range - 36V maximum recommended
    * Tough extruded Aluminum case enclosed against dust and chips
    * 16 MOSFETs bolted to massive 0.5 thick heatsink bars in turn bolted to enclosure for extra heat dissipation
    * Integrated R/C interface with 3-ch inputs (Left, Right, Flip)
    * Adjustable active current limiting (10A - 130A)
    * Adjustable command slew rate
    * Fixed over temp protection each channel
    * Solder or bolt mount high-current leads
    * The software features you expect; mixing, tank-mode, mirror mode, R/C or gravity Flip input.
    * Three indicator LEDs visible from outside the case (left/right motor speed direction, status)
    * Remote on-off switch
    * Utility 12V output for power-on LED or other uses
    * Size: 3.2 x 4.3 and just 1.1 high!
    * Weight: 335g (12oz) without optional mounting brackets or power wires
    * Price: $325

    Under development is an on-board 2.4GHz radio transceiver and a single axis gyro that fits inside the enclosure.

    Note, the Sidewinder is not in volume production yet. We are building them by hand on order for now. There may be a week or more delay in shipping your Sidewinder so we cant promise last minute gratification of your speed controller needs. Well let you know when we get the machine assembly process going and resellers have stock.

    Shame youll have to run 24v and onwards to be safe from surges in power turning your speed controllers off No switch mode regulator you see.

    Ill stick with controllers that will let me run as low as 4v thanks (Damned nice controllers, looks like an RS-80D on sterioids)

    Yeah that maybe true that it cuts out if u go below 14v - but if you need a speed controller to handle high currents like this is kicking out - then most people are using well above 18v anyway.

    i only run at 12v with alpha

    then dont buy one lol. Like like a well worth speedo for people using the likes of astros etc.

    Should run 18v onwards fine according to Chris (Robot Power)

    this is one of my pet hates, people building controllers and saying itll do 50v 300A (example) and there only reallygood to 36v 100A why cant they just be honest
    that said it does look good but ill stick with my vantec

    Craig, if the layout of the board, the mosfets used (IRF1405, I think, same as IBC anyway) and the size of the heat sinks is anything to go by, this thing should handle 80A per channel easy.
