    FINALS
    LAST 16
    1) Kali VS S.D. IV (1)
Hmm, a real tough nut here. The only great advantage I think I have is control (15mph compared to 25mph). So, itll be a case of getting around to the sides/rear and nibbling away at the shell or wheels. I wouldnt mind trying for a pitting either.

    2) ForcePower Turbo (12) VS WHIRLIGIG 4.0 (24)
Yeesh! What can I do but spin up and try to obliterate it ASAP? Avoid that front wedge like the Dickens.

Interesting to see Metalmorphosis doing so well too. Maybe Dan and I shouldnt have flogged it off to Richie after all.

    SOR 4 (20) V Terror gear 3
    why bother with introductions?
    3.2.1. Activate
So the first fight in over 12months in underway. The two robots quickly getting their powerful spinning weapons up to speed. Terror Gear is the faster robot at 18mph and lunges towards the sides of the 20th side, however SOR is much more manovrable than its opponent and turns away smacking the side of terror gear with the horizontal blade. Terror gear appears to have taken no damage from SOR and reverses away, SOR follow on in pursuit of the reversing newcomer, who charges at the 20th seed and is able to just slip the wedge under SOR and charges it into the nearest arena wall sending SOR for a flying lesson. SOR is quick to recover and charges at Terror Gear with the flipper easily slipping under the 5mm side ground clearance, terror gear gets a flying lesson in return and crashes to the ground. AJ quickly attacks terror gear again sending it up into the sky again with the powerful CO2 flipper. Terror Gear comes down to earth with a bump and is quickly attacked by SOR€™s rear spinner, which rips into the lexan armour. Terror Gear backs off from the attacking SOR to turn it self and this time it comes towards SOR€™s side and gets under and this time is able to get the drum into play, sparks fly as the drum hits SOR€™s hardox armour, but the drum is un able to do any real damage. Still on Terror Gear€™s wedge SOR is unable to stop itself being slammed into the arena wall once again, this time it stays on the wedge so Terror Gear backs off slightly and charges in again, the force tipping SOR onto it€™s side and propped against the wall. Terror Gear backs off to see if SOR can recover, the flipper on SOR fires and knocks the robot off the wall but it lands the wrong way up, seeing it has a chance to attack again Terror Gear charges in only to miss SOR completely as it selfrights it self out the way, SOR charges in with the flipper and slips under the side ground clearance of Terror Gear sending it flying into the air and over the fence.
Terror Gear 3, not so terrifying was it?
SOR 4 (20) goes through to the quarterfinals!

Glasgow Kiss V Killotine Evo (13)
    3.2.1. Activate.
So the battle of the Scottish axe robots begins! Killotine is ever so slightly the quicker of the two robots. The two robots meet in the centre of the arena, Killotine fires its axe which scratches down the side of Glasgow Kiss, in return Glasgow Kiss fires its axe which is significantly more powerful than Killotine€™s but it is un able to do more than rattle Killotine. Both robots retract there axes and killotine drives into Glasgow Kiss with its wedge just slipping under the front. Killotine starts to edge Glasgow Kiss back, across the arena. Glasgow Kiss fires its double ended axe which smacks into the top of Killotine evo leaving a nice a hole in the top of the robot. Killotine backs off to launch another attack but before it can Glasgow Kiss fires the axe again rattling the 13th seed and shacking off the Scottish flag it flies so proudly. Killotine pulls away from Glasgow Kiss and activates the pit release button, but Glasgow kiss is right behind Killotine Evo and smacks the axe into the top of the 13th seed once more. Killotine turns and once again slips the wedge under the newcomer, killotine fires the axe trapping Glasgow Kiss. Killotine tries to push Glasgow Kiss towards the pit but seams unable to push it forwards. Killtoine reluctantly lets go off Glasgow Kiss who quickly drives off the front of Killotine. However the 13th seed is quick to persue Glasgow Kiss and fires the axe but completely misses the newcomer, Glasgow Kiss quickly turns and fires its axe into where Killotine€™s axe should retract, CO2 starts pouring out of the 13th seed. Glasgow kiss keeps the axe in the 13th seed and slowly moves it across the arena, retracting its axe with Killotine on the edge of the pit, Glasgow kiss moves forward to shove the vetran into the pit, but killotine reverses away and leaves Glasgow Kiss on the edge of the pit. However Glasgow Kiss is quick to drive away and back on the attack of killotine who charges at it opponent and rams into it with its axe stuck fully extended. Glasgow Kiss turns and smacks killotine over the top again the axe getting fully stuck into the top this time. Glasgow Kiss drags killotine across the arena slowly turning around it pushes killotine over the edge of the pit, retracts its axe and spins on the spot as Killotine falls into the void.

13 was unlucky for Killotine Evo (13), its axed from the tournament

ffffff>Although I cant believe it, I agree with Timmy. Awesome fights Martyn.

  10. #230
    Woo! Nice fights Martyn!

GeForce Evo 3.0 V Baldur Gamma

Well I cant find anything about Baldur Gammas ground clearance so I will just have to presume I can get under it as it doesnt appear to be skirted. Simply, I will just have to rely on better driving in this match (my lower speed should aid here) and get to the sides and back where I can flip it around or alternately just ram it straight to the walls and flip it OOTA. We have identical drive trains so Ill just have to see what happens. My sloped sides and great traction should help with preventing it pushing me about as well.

    Mega Verter (19) V Giga Byte (7)

Oh dear oh dear€¦ I don€™t think invertability is going to help me here. Well a couple of things to note are its pathetic speed and turning circle compared to mine. Compare 7mph top speed and 10cm turning circle with 20mph and ability to turn on the spot and it suggests I can largely avoid the flipper in this match. Despite having some brute force, I presume the majority of that power cannot be put down on the floor so I should be OK pushing it around. Gripping it is probably pointless considering it has 1cm thick of armouring, but I should be able to cause a few cosmetic dents and scrapes to get the damage tally on my side. So really, just use my superior drive system to avoid the flipper at all costs and manoeuvre to the sides or back and just try and get it down the pit.

    Whirligig (24) V Force Power Turbo (12)

Well this is slightly easier. Just use the typical ram bot tactics, go straight in, keep the speed of the shell down and give it no space to get away. Keep ramming in over and over again and into any danger within the ring, preferably the pit. The front wedge should be able to withstand any impacts, and so should the sides really. So just box rush the hell out of it really until it€™s done with.

And for the other matches I€™ll go for SD IV, Orka MK 4 and Stratos-Fear to go through.
