BTW Why dont subs have windows? They cruise about a lot on the surface so why do they all have to climb up and stand on the conning tower in the open when they could just as easily have a bridge. Thunderbird 4, Stingray, Seaview, Seaquest....they all had them.

Its to do with water pressure, windows would be a vulnerable point for pressure, or a torpedo hitting a window wouldnt be that good an idea. Basically its not as tough as the rest of the thing so would be a weak point for any damage.
