I bought a toy mini-helicopter yesterday and this was the reaction of 4 (of my 7) cats:



Isegrim (dark grey, center) and Hrimnir (white and grey striped, front) were mightily interested and even hunted and swatted at the thing, Bean Sidhe (white and orange striped, yawning in the back at the right) wondered why the fuss, and Loup-Garou (who's killed another three rabbits this weekend - last weekend he killed 5 !! we have weird neighbours who think it's the rabbits' own fault if they leave their cages and get eaten by our felines) sits in supreme indifference far left/back, more interested in life prey you can actually eat.

The heli is surprisingly sturdy.

To be random for a moment; I'm spending this week working at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Turbo Expo at the SECC and, of over 3000 attendees, there is one guy who stands out and I always end up spotting. I don't know his name or where he's from; all I think when I see him is that he is a cross between Ian Lewis and Mike Lambert

Also started making a list today (I was bored during lunch duty) of other conference attendees who looked like people and so far I've got a guy who looks like David Walliams but a little skinnier, a professor from Cambridge with a beard such that it makes him look like Abraham Lincoln, a guy who could be Lando Calrissian's twin brother and a fair few Japanese attendees who (without wanting to stereotype/generalise too much) could pass for Mr Sulu
