and the usb leads - iv found some on the buzzflyer site - are they all same? will they work on spektrum like?

I would recommend a Trex 500 as a starter, more stable and less twitchy as a 450.

None of those usb leads are for the Spektrum. I would get Phoenix-RC as a sim, it has the right cable (that also serves as the copy-protection) for the Spektrum and is the same sim you saw at the campsite. And you can fly together with other Phoenix simmers like Grant, Kenny and I over the internet.

As leo said.
The trex 500 is an AWESOME heli, a reasonable amount bigger than my 450 and so its much more stable and can take higher winds so its better for learning. And still insane at 3D flying.
