Got it working (hopefully)![]()
Replaced the micro and it came to life for about 5 minutes and died again. The funny thing was it was controlling it forward and backwards fine including turning, but then if you turned on the spot it it went full speed first then started to slow down as you carried on moving the stick.
Checked the wiring again and found that the Red motor wires were OK but the black ones were cross, Doh . Blamed my brother as he connected it up.
After replacing the micro with another one it fired up again. I quickly turned it off and we will try it tomorrow in the arena and hope its lasts.
Your new axe bot looks well impressive Mark, Is it still being called Blue or is it called White now?![]()
Going back to its original name, Little Hitter. Seen as theres only a few heavyweights were also taking Litter Flipper tomorrow.
I was just looking through the IBC manual and noticed that the IBC could control a relay/solenoid and was wondering if it could switch over the http://robotcombat.com/store_solenoids.html
No Chris it wont, and you stand a fair chance of cooking the voltage regulator if you try.
The relay control is 12V at a max load of 0.25A
You could use the IBC to drive a small 12V s.p.n.o automotive relay and use that in turn to switch your 120 series @ 24V.
Chris, There is a modification you can do to up the Voltage to the battery voltage but it wont increase the current handling.
Note: We did this and our IBC is no longer working  but due to wiring fault.
Why not simply slave the operation of the big solenoid from a smaller relay?
Sorry to interupt this threads Peaceful slumber but now I have drive worthy enough to test my IBC, I havent a clue why but it appears to be slowly turning, in which direction I havent a clue. The wires are linked up correctly. Me thinks it might be the radio, my skysport 6EXA. Suggestions?
Ps How do I get rid of that noise? I belive it s the pulse width frequency but any way to surpress it?
sounds like you trims are out on the TX, if so just keeping nudging the trim buttons on the TX until it stops. For example if its slowly turning left, nudge the steering trim to the right.
