Went to see Embrace for the 3rd time at Folkestone Leas Cliff Hall last night. Wow. What a blinding night! They were brilliant! One of the best gigs ive been to for a long time.
Just wonder what gigs or bands are your favorites?

Bowling For Soup was last Wed (6th of Oct) at Rock City in Nottingham that was a good set and also got some sigs this time. Only quibble is that im disappointed with Chris he never flashed his body or ass like past gigs (got a great pic of Chriss ass from Download though)
Other than that ive not really been to many so far i was hoping to see Electric Six at the end of November at Rock City in Nottingham but its an 18 and i dont know what Rock City is like at controlling there age limits. Oh and i keep looking at Blink 182 which should be playing on the 8th of Dec at Nottingham Arena at the National Ice Centre.

Im more for Irish Folk (Loreena McKennitt, Chris Moore, The Dubliners, Micheal Flatley (that man is not only a tapdancer but plays a devilishly beautiful tune on his flute as wel !!), Planxty...) and classical music (Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Grieg to name just a few), but my favourite modern band is Rammstein.
Other interests: Era, Enya, polyphonic music (Renaissance), Gregorian music, good old Rock & Roll, student songs (I been a cantor for 3 years at university)...
I cannot say that I like modern music very much since the onset of house and techno. I can appreciate death and black metal and some rap groups (to my great horror I like Eminem more and more but that is because of his cadence and lyrics).
Generally I buy and collect songs or pieces of music that I like, not really bothering about what genre they belong to or who performs. My cd and LP/singles library is therefore rather eccentric and diverse. Being half-deaf I have a more intense appreciation for music.
I listen to just about anything that isnt R & B. Cant stand the stuff, its just the same two notes and line played over and over
At the moment my favourite band is a metal group called Nightwish who are just coming out over here, but theyve been around for a while.
I went to see the Zutons last night. Great band, great show.
But far and away my favourite band is Pixies.
Ah, The Pixies... Me and my brother Pete saw them several times at Brixton Academy in the late 80s. Happy days...
My musical tastes go from Ahlam and Aisha Kandishas Jarring Effects (Moroccan/Berber trance), through Japanese Techno, Happy House and Big Beat with the odd good pop song thrown in (like George Michaels version of Flawless)
I havnt seen anything live for many years but they include Ian Dury, The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Tubes, The Stranglers, Tapper Zukie......yeah it was that long ago. Mind you, the ones I would really love to see live are GWAR - I think their videos are hilarious, especially the one with the penguins.
