Awwww... Spoilsport:sad:
-there€™s nowhere to pit anything, and there aren€™t many designs it can damage or knock out.
I really need to edit my stats for the different competitions. I typed that for VFT. Damn, sorry about that.
1)Convince me of why I€™m wrong. Technical answers only please. Just saying €œYou€™re wrong, you suck€ is the fast way of getting ignored. Please note this is by no means impossible. For example, Aaron did a good job of convincing me MDU 3 can probably survive its own hits.
I assume survive is a very loosely interpreted term in that last part.![]()
...Lets just say I believe the chances of detonation to be less than 100% and leave it at that:P
It€™s time to begin Heat B. Two of our machines, we€™ve met before, two are new. Two are vapours and two are real. I can€™t think of any more sentences beginning with €œtwo€Â, so let€™s meet our contestants![]()
Dervish VI is the seed of this heat. Last series it spun its way past Killotine: Evo, Hell Machine and Sheer Hell, before coming second in an unofficial house robot rebellion with Maximum Velocity during the semi finals, and then being tipped out of the arena by Wedge 1 to gain a respectable fourth place. Thanks to runner up Maximum Velocity retiring, Dervish moves up to third seed.
El Persistence is our other unreal battler, and new to the wars. It€™s got the shape of Storm 2. It€™s got the weapon of Storm 2. It€™s got the drive of Storm 2. However its undoing may be it hasn€™t got anywhere near the armour of Storm 2.
Artros is the other newbie, and it€™s a compact little battler, and quite nippy too at 22 MPH. The high pressure flipper could give anyone flying lessons, but it€™s never been in a fight so that could count against it here.
Bisyamonten, we€™ve met before in NSBFL 5. It got through round 1 easily thanks to SpinVerter dispatching 200 in record time. Then it met Dervish Mach 3, and it€™s taken them this long to repair it. In case you forgot, it€™s got a claw at the front to grapple and pierce the opposition, and a wedge/flipper at the back to send them flying, but the thin armour could lead to this war God€™s fall in battle again.
Battle 1
This battle takes place in the Moat, for a grudge match. Dervish VI vs Bisyamonten!

Team Bisyamonten€™s plan is simple. Accelerating quickly, it runs right into Dervish with the claw wide open! Bisyamonten slams into the spinning body of Dervish! Bisyamonten is jolted up a little, but it continues pushing forwards hoping to get Dervish in the moat immediately, if not sooner! However the claw is broken from the initial impact, and can€™t close, making it a simple matter for dervish to reverse and turn away and escape to the arena centre!
Bisyamonten isn€™t staying still though, and reverses right at Dervish, getting under a wheel, but Dervish slips off and goes for Bisyamonten€™s side. Bisyamonten evades though, and gets its wedge under the side of Dervish again, flipping it end over end, and getting under the side again, flipping it towards the moat! Dan sees what€™s coming, and moves Dervish away from the next flip, again aiming for Bisyamonten€™s side.
Once again though, Bisyamonten catches it in the broken jaw! While a bit of the top jaw is torn off, Dervish is kept away from the main body and pushed towards the moat again! Again Dervish manages to slip away, but the action is getting nearer and nearer to the moat! Dan keeps turning Dervish and finally manages to hit the side of Bisyamonten, but it€™s the downwards spinning part of Dervish which strikes! The armour is torn up a bit, but Dervish drags itself up Bisyamonten before flopping down, and once more Bisyamonten gets the busted jaw against the now stalled drum, and starts pushing!
Dervish backs away, turns and runs to the arena centre to start spinning up! Bisyamonten catches up, and the jaw goes into one of Dervishes wheels and Dervish once more finds itself being pushed moatwards! Once more though, as the jaw is broken, Bisyamonten can€™t control Dervish and so the full body drum gets away once more, and finally hits the side of Bisyamonten, tearing a gash in the armour and knocking it over!
Bisyamonten self rights and uses the jaw to stall the drum once more. However this time the jaw is completely torn from its housing and thrown into the moat! Dervish moves forwards and strikes where the jaw was, bouncing Bisyamonten up and tearing an entire panel off, before moving forwards and hitting the underbelly, knocking Bisyamonten up and over!
Bisyamonten self rights again, and comes at Dervish with the wedge, but instead of getting under a wheel gets under the drum, taking a hit for its trouble, but now Dervish is stranded on the damaged wedge! Bisyamonten goes straight at the moat, aiming to catapult Dervish into it and it looks like there€™s not a thing Dan can do about it! However one of the wheels of Dervish touches the floor just long enough to get enough traction to slip off the wedge and escape certain moat! The driver of Bisyamonten isn€™t quite quick enough, and the war God goes straight over the edge and out of the competition!
Well, the number 3 seed just scraped that one, but Dervish VI is through to the heat final!
Battle 2
Two newbies, Artros and El Persistence now meet up in the Unimmediate Peril arena for the dubious honour of taking on Dervish VI.

Quick as a flash, El Persistence is off and into the fight, slamming under Artros, who is slow off the mark! Artros is shoved into the arena wall a couple of times, and lifted up and over before being slammed into another wall! Artros self rights, but el Persistance gets under the rear of Artros and takes it across the arena slamming it into another wall! El Persistence tries to lift Artros over again, but the wall€™s getting in the way, and so it€™s forced to back off, allowing Artros to flop down and escape!
Artros€™ freedom is short lived however, as El Persistence slams under the rear again, and lifts Artros over from behind, then once more getting under the self righting Artros and pushing it into the wall! El Persistence backs off for another slam, but Artros manages to move out of the way and El Persistence hits the wall instead!
Finally having a chance to attack, Artros tries to get under El Persistence€™s side, but can€™t get under the skirt and ends up flipping at nothing, tipping itself over in the process! Artros tries to self right, but fails takes to El Persistence getting under and lifting, then pushing it across the arena and slamming it into a wall! Artros self rights, only to be lifted straight back over!
El Persistence again takes the upended Artros across the arena and into a wall, and Artros self rights, but can€™t seem to move forwards! El Persistence backs off to see why, and we can see that the flipping plate was buckled downwards by one of El Persistence€™s rams, and that€™s stopping it from moving forwards! El Persistence slams Artros into the wall again, and Artros reverses. It seems it can still move backwards, but the Artros driver sees there€™s nothing they can do to El Persistence, and so he turns off the remote and allows his rookie machine to be counted out. The pit is opened, and El Persistence quickly shunts Artros in!
Artros never really got into that fight. El Persistence goes through to the heat final!
Next time in NSBFL 7, Dervish VI vs El Persistence in the Classic arena!
More wootinessand although Id like Dervish to whirl through again, I cant help feeling El Persistance will end up bringing around another upset
€˜Tis time for the heat B final! In round 1, Dervish VI spun past Bisyamonten, while El-Persistence shoved and bullied Artros into submission. Now they€™ve not only got to dodge each other, but the house robots as we move into the Classic arena.

In the blink of an eye, Dervish spins up to speed, but El-Persistence slams under the spinning drum, and takes Dervish into the wall! The wedge armour is torn and buckled by this, but El-Persistence isn€™t slowed down, and takes Dervish into the CPZ containing Uncle Tomahawk! The axe comes down and slams into the drum, but not making much impression. El-Persistence does what its name implies, and pushed Dervish right into the corner, before exiting smartly!
Dervish moves to escape, but Uncle Tomahawk is crowding it in, and flailing wildly with the axe! After a couple of seconds, dervish is able to attack the house robot, knocking it over! Uncle Tomahawk self rights in a flash, but Dervish has enough time to escape, and is shunted right into a wall by El-Persistence! Dervish manages to slip off the wedge before any serious pushing happens, and hits El-Persistence on the rear, bouncing El-Persistence up but not over!
El-Persistence avoids another blow, and gets under the side of Dervish! Dervish starts to roll away, but El-Persistence keeps moving, and Dervish ends up in the CPZ of Bane! El-Persistence drives Dervish right into the erm€¦ Hands of Bane, and the claws nip onto one of the wheels and stopping Dervish from escaping! Dervish struggles to escape, but Bane isn€™t letting go. However the claws don€™t seem to be making much progress on the thick armour of Dervish!
Eventually Bane is forced to let go due to the 30 second rule, and Dervish storms straight out and into the side of El-Persistence, knocking the ram €˜bot over, and tearing a large gash in the armour! El-Persistence starts to move away, but takes a hit on the other side, knocking it the right way up again! El-Persistence gets under the drum, and gets its wedge torn up more for its troubles, but still takes Dervish along and slams it into a wall, bouncing Dervish up and onto the top of El-Persistence!
El-Persistence reverses, making Dervish roll off, and gets under a wheel, and slams half of Dervish into the wall! However Dervish spins around and hits El-Persistence on the side again, causing a whole panel to fly off on impact! El-Persistence tries to move away, but the blow has destroyed movement on one side, and Dervish hits the panel-less side again, tearing out a battery and knocking El-Persistence over!
Movement on El-Persistence€™s part seems to be a no-no, so the nearby Flipup comes out of its CPZ to give it a nudge. Still no movement, so El-Persistence is counted out and shown onto the floor flipper and given some air-time while the pit descends! Amazingly, El-Persistence starts moving feebly after landing, but only in circles, so Flipup fields it with the bucket scoop, and shunts it into the pit.
El-Persistence is El-Gonna, Dervish VI goes through to the next round!
Next up is Heat C, and the line-up is:
Sheer Hell (5) vs Stratos-Fear - Roulette
BIACS-LE vs Heir to Black Panther 4 - Last bot standing
hit and run, or flip, hit and run?
Hit and keep hitting for me![]()
4mm ABC was thn enough for my middleweight to go through, so hopefully well have the same luck here![]()
The axe will only hit the cage or the disc, and the cage can tak a fair bashing. If he flips us, just keep doing the same thing. I think we have the advantage unless we break down, as this is Last Bot Standing and I have th emore vicious weaponry![]()
I wouldnt like to predict the other fight, but Ill say Sheer Hell to pit Stratos Fear
