Welcome to VFT6, where we have another special event lined up - the Challenge Belt! To start with, weve given the belt to Steven McGregor and his robot Wedge Devolution - Steven and some evolution of Wedge have entered every VFT so far, and while in three VFTs, Wedge has gone out in Round 1 or 2, it came 3rd in VFT2, 4th in VFT3, and is set to come at least 4th in the main VFT6 tournament, having reached the final with Storm 2, NSBFR-X and Hypertension Mk2!
If Wedge Devolution wins against three challengers, it keeps the Belt and gets another one to compete for. But if a challenger beats the Wedge, it gets the belt, and has to defend it twice to keep it! Theres nine challengers lined up, and the first is Happy Birthday Party Pooper!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Wedge Devolution ran straight at Happy Birthday Party Pooper, who ran off to get spinning! It was spinning at a good speed when Wedge caught up, got underneath and fired its flipper - but Wedge got the timing a bit wrong and recieved a tooth slash as it was doing so, sending it spinning away! As HBPPs spinner hit the floor, it bounced and shuddered, stabilising relatively quickly, but not fast enough to start scuttling away from Wedge Devo, who came in underneath and tossed it over again! As HBPP landed on the floor, Wedge got its wedge under and charged it into the wall, before firing the flipper to try and prop it up! But HBPP went up, landed on its side and quickly fell back down! It began trying to run and spin up, but Wedge Devolution wouldnt have that, turning around, getting its blade under and sending it over again! Getting straight under HBPP, Wedge continued toying with it, now shoving it into the corner and giving it another flip to try and prop it! Going up, HBPP came back down on top of Wedge Devolution, before falling to one side and looking like it might be stuck against the wall. But when Wedge backed off to test it, down HBPP came! There was no time for it to get away however, as back in came Wedge Devolution, deciding to finish the battle just as it had done in their VFT6 Round 1 melee by coming under Happy Birthday Party Pooper, steering it in the right direction, rushing to the pit release with it, before turning around, stopping short of the pit, and firing the flipper to toss the spinning walker in successfully! The Challenge Belt holder had made one successful defence, but it needed to achieve two more!
