Sounds odd Rob ... But some Curtis controllers have a lot of safety features ...... not always Robot friendly.
Itll detect things like low battery voltage and goes into economy mode ... likewise overvoltage ...in this instance it shuts down and needs to be restarted.

BTW...I have a spare Paul adaptor should you require it.
