In some cases its actually impossible without a needle nosed pliers and a soldering iron! You would be banned from Robot Wars then.

Not really stu seeing as he runs on 27 and not a single other robot has ever had the same frequency as him.

The Dutch are not exactly thrilled by the concept of permanent to antweights allocated frequencies. I have mentioned this discussion on our forum and the comments were rather negative.
I too do not really see the advantages. The most recent possibility (subscribing with your possible frequencies included sent before event to organiser who can then allocate frequencies to robots) seems better to me.
I dont like the idea either. Not many attend events, and due to their size, when they do its very hard for the audience to see them and to fit them into the show. I have no problem with ants at events (as we fight them aswell) but I dont think they should be able to hold up frequencies etc from heavys/feathers.
I know people will have different views on the subject, antweight people will be bias towards decisions that favour them and the same applies for heavyweight roboteers. Seeing we fight Heavys, Feathers and Ants (and soon to be middles), then we have more of an unbias view and it may be an idea of seeing what roboteers with different weights think.
Most of the time 3 or 4 allocated frequencies wont be enough, so we are still going to end up with the same problem.
At last I have found the discussion. The point I want to make is that if some frequencies allocated to a particular group such as ANTs they need to be adjacent frequencies otherwise we still wont be able to use them if either of the channels 10khz away are in use by another group as roaming robots wont allow it. Also if crystals are provided you will need to take into account both hitec and futaba receivers use different IF frequencies and so need different rx crystals.
I am not planning on restricting antweights to the four frequencies, but making sure that they have 4 frequencies which will always be available to use.
In addition to any which are available when required.
The only time we normally ban the use of adjacent frequencies is while we are in the process of tech checking robots in the pits as this is the most dangerous part of an event.
Once robots are inside arenas, then frequencies return to normal, unless there are interference problems occurring.
Hope this clarifies things.
The frequencies will be posted in the next few days once I have been through the latest frequency information which has been submitted to me.
Remember, the main reason for this, is not to hinder the ants, but to try and find a way of getting them running all day at our shows as we want to make a big feature of them throughout our winter tour, with very large screens and projectors on the arena throughout the day, should be a great opportunity for you.

That sounds very positive but I was definitely told several times at the feather weight smash that I couldnt have my frequency as an adjacent one was in use in either the present or next feather weight battle. If we can use adjacent channels that should really help solve most of the problems. If frequencies are made available I will certainly make the effort to get some new crystals. Sorry to keep harping on about this but as this seemed to be the only problem area in an otherwise very smooth operation I believe its worth getting it sorted.
Frequency list has been updated. http://www.ukinnovations.co.uk/freqtable.htmhttp://www.ukinnovations.co.uk/freqtable.htm
Two frequencies will now be allocated for permanent use for ANTWEIGHTS ONLY where we are involved in the event, taking immediate effect, with the first trial at Debenem.
They are 40.765 and 40.805.
They will be available throughout the event for antweights only, after all tech checks have been completed.
Other frequencies may be used, however preference may be given to other weight classes first.
We will try this and see if it works, and if anyone has any suggestions after it has been used, then email me direct of speak to me at the event.

is it possible to move G3 to 665? as its currently using the same frequency as Merlin, which could cause problems at events, swapping over the xtals between robots and also messing TX control around.
