Thread: Help with disc

lol. Saturday was a lot of fun. I managed to break two welds on my spinner. Daniel, did you say the spinning bar was bent?

Yeah, yeah, all right Aaron, your spinner is better then mine. The bar is bent and chipped and you cracked one of the bearing blocks.

Also when the robot flipped itself there was no physical damage to it. It was that I impacted with too much area on the bar, this caused the bar to stop and a pure torque was applied to the bar. A reaction torque occured at the base of the bar which turned the robot around it. Basically it was easier to spin the robot around the bar then the bar around the robot.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but Id rather do that then start a new one. I would like to ask for help in perchasing some hardox for a feather weight spinner. The weapon would measure 302mm x 270mm x 8mm for the 2 toothed version. Its simalar to the one pictured in my profile but only made from a single piece. I also have a 1 and 3 toothed version, but theres no point getting fancy just yet.
So is anyone willing to help me get this thing cut out of 450 Hardox and sent to Australia? Ill be able to send to copies of the disc in jpeg, dwg, dxf, idw, iges and stp formats.

Daniel, you should contact Thomas from SSAB in Brisbane who sell Hardox locally. If you call from your work place, you might be able to get a small section directly instead of having to buy a full sheet. Last time I looked at getting a sheet of Hardox, it was $660 for a 3.2mm x 6m x 1.5m of Hardox 450.

If you end up getting some local, do you mind if I chip in for some too? I have not heard much about my extremely expensive piece of Hardox 650 lately and Im looking for someting soon.

No Aaron. I am not looking for an entire sheet of material I wont be able to cut at home. I am looking for someone who has some hardox and would cut it for me. I prefer to have parts land on my door step rather then do any work.

I didnt say buy a full sheet. Chase up SSAB metals and get a small pieces of Hardox and get it laser cut in Brisbane.

Failing that, contact Christian and see if is not too late to get some Hardox 650 cut for you.
