Also when the robot flipped itself there was no physical damage to it. It was that I impacted with too much area on the bar, this caused the bar to stop and a pure torque was applied to the bar. A reaction torque occured at the base of the bar which turned the robot around it. Basically it was easier to spin the robot around the bar then the bar around the robot.
