From what I can tell from just watching the show, Typhoon needs to be started up like a car. Only instead of keys theres a yellow button on Garys remote, and looking at the way he kept pressing it they were having trouble getting it started which is why Typhoon wasnt spinning for long periods of time.

...Of course thats just the impression I got from a couple of clips. Probably wrong
