Carbon fibre is like fire glass in many ways you can buy a a soft woven cloth which can be made into complex shapes usually in some type of mould and you then apply epoxy resine to it which sets off and fixes the shape. If you have bought a sheet of carbon fibre that is already hard this has already had the epoxy applied. This cannot be formed or even bent all you can do is cut it,drill it or glue bit together.
