There is a company called RobotsRus, that I came across at the Wrexham Wrumble earlier this year.I picked up a leaflet. They make robot kits (total kit for £1825), and can be contacted on sales@robotsrus.co.uk.
Or just have look at http://www.robotsrus.co.ukwww.robotsrus.co.uk - they look quite good, could be a good option if you have the cash but not the mechanical ability to build a heavyweight.
Like the thread title Frank - very l33t

ah i see.
Thanks to Jeremys intel, I just visited the web site, and in all honesty, I do think its something that has a shot at being successfull. But these machines are way underpowered for this level of combat.
I think there not intended to fight at the Robot Wars level of combat as you can clearly see more of fighting each other and fun events.
Is it me or is there a very strong essence of Razer team all over that site? are they or have they been involved in it or is it just me?

I belive Razer use or used the RobotsRUs speed contoller, the Dogz Bollox so theres one link.
I guess youre right Chris, but im also pretty sure people will be showing up with their raptors to qualify for series 8, if thats going to be taped.
The robotsareus bots are intended for theme parks. Where kids can have ago at robot combat. So parts and battry packs etc can be swopped in by the park engineering staff. I think that its a great idea.
