I was also an interchangable crewmate for Dutch roboteers this year (but alas neither of them got qualified), us Dutch and Flemish call it teamjumping. Because we travel together, camp together, get drunk together, repair all robots together we know each other and our robots so well that we can easily jump teams when needed.

So here is the expression: teamjumper that covers all kinds of assistance.
